Kopite
my brother's living in New Zealand for a year, a SORN has come for him to renew his road tax. my dad's sorting all this out, the car's only 2 years old but the SORN is asking for an MOT, which of course it hasn't got due to being less than 3 years old. phonelines are jammed and my dad's not got that much time to be tryin to phone them all day! anyone know how we can renew the road tax without the MOT it's asking for? Aerotop Dave
Eh? You only need an MOT when the car gets to 3 years old.
terribleturner
Sorry, i think i started that. For some strange reason had the figure of 2 years in my head. But the DVLA says......... As you need an MOT (for vehicles over 3 years old)
Supragal
Err, what? You don't need an MOT for SORN? You can declare it SORN online with the reminder they sent you? What have I missed?

Kopite
Eh? You only need an MOT when the car gets to 3 years old. that;s the problem! they're insisting on an MOT apparently even though it doesnt need one til next May! the whole "the car isn't 3 years old thing etc" isn't workin on them. will try and have a look online in a bit! Supragal
What I'm saying though it that if you're SORNing it then the MOT part becomes irrelevant.
