Spike3.0
Wondering if this is only me… I've been trying my best to get the Supra up to standard for Japfest but I'm admitting defeat. I really wanted to get the car immaculate for the show, but I’ve not had the car long and every time I have some cash to get the body sorted – scratches, dents, scrapes, dings etc… Something always goes wrong, this month was the steering rack : ( So I’ve gave up trying, It will have to do and I’ll aim for the next Japfest to get it A1. Is my Supra going to be the ugly duckling or is there anyone else in the same position… I know I’ll be hiding at the back of the field on this one. Gaz6002
The first - and most important - thing you need to accept as a Supra owner, is that your car isn't perfect. It simply isn't possible. What you should do however is try and play on your car's strengths. Remember, every time you go to a car show you'll see someone with a better idea. nevins
Alot of cars on here have had thousands spent on them, sure it would be nice to have a car the same calibre, but we are all there for the same reason, representing the club and our love of cars. foggy147
Exactly you'll probably be suprised when you see some of the other stands, its definately not going to be the worst there by any stretch of the imagination.
reeceu
best thing to do is give your car a massive polish until your happy and then think that the car still looks great even though it is more than 10 years old!! pause... then go look at the crappy bodged mr2 stand!!! Spike3.0
I do less miles than that a year show off lol Even though I do all those miles the Supra really holds up well! The previous owner looked after the engine (shame about the bodywork). Chester to Bristol for the show is a small journey for me, But thats why it's looking tired. Next year I plan to look over this thread with a complete different story.

No offence intended to anyone..I'm 1st to admit I'm very protective of where i park mine!! lol Met a guy in the local Tesco once who had a 350hp TT..and it looked very used... 'it's just a car' he said.. Side by side it made my paint job look mint in comparison..happy days lol

Goddam man pull yourself together Give her a good clean, polish n wax, have a firtle under the engine bay and clean the alleys;) Taking the car and having a good day is more important than worrying about your car. Like already said there will be better condition Supes and worse but thats not what its all about, Have a great day and come have a beer with scotty71;) , Ill even go over it with speed detailer for you lol People buy Supra's in varied lifestyles, I use mine weekends only or sometimes bi-weekly so its easy to keep clean some use daily. We all have different budgets for our stuff so.......... enjoy the fest spike
