TransitVanMan
i've searched but i can't really find a thread with what i'm after:( i'd just like a idea of the cost to increase the bhp of a 2jz-gte going through stages of bhp increase - just a rough guide to give us an idea of what you can get out of it bhp per £ starting at stock 320bhp = £0 ......... and so on:) cheers:)
JamieP
Trouble with that is the price changes massively depending where you buy parts from, exchange rates, who fits them etc...
jevansio
It will totally depend on whether you put top of the line new parts vs cheap 2nd hand bits, BPU is the 1st real stage Then single after that Couple of grand to go BPU, single is limitless
tooquicktostop
The cost v gain to BPU is actually very good value, if you were to draw it as a graph the line would get considerably steeper once you decide to go big twin/single

Scott
Decent Exhaust, Double de-cat, FCD, Restrictor ring and MBC will see you at approx 400hp for not a lot of money. Approx £600 To up the ante you could go with an EBC and an FMIC. It is really only recommended that you go for an FMIC if your sidemount is shot and you fancy upgrading in the future.... or if you just like the look/presence of the FMIC £1k+ (depends on EBC & Intercooler choice) Single turbo, to do it on new parts you would need to put away around £6k. That is doing it properly on the cheaper options though (piggy back instead of stand alone, cast manifold instead of tubular etc). To do it will all the bells and whistles you will be talking 10k. This will see you at or around 600/700hp. To go above 700hp (really pushing the stock engine) you need a built engine plus all of the above. You will be looking at another 5k-10 to build the engine/head properly depending on your choices. Of course this is just engine work. To do all the above properly you need to have the correct suspension, wheels, rubber, chassis mods etc. Add another 5k for that. You can see how quickly the costs can add up. Starting from a stock TT you could easily spend 20k to get it to Jamie P performance levels. All comes down to how much money you have to play around with. Going down the performance route you HAVE to see the car as a toy, it can be nothing more as it will probably break and there will be a lot of bumps in the road. If it is a toy you have the money to replace/fix it. If it isn't, you will be heartbroken.
