This is my story about BT. ENJOY

Long story short.

I phone BT sale about 2nd of march. I asked for phone line and Internet connection. I have been asked Is the Flat where I live is new becouse sale man asked me for my post code and he could not find it in data base. I said yes it's probably is as I have no phone socket. He let me know how much will it cost to connect which was 124,99pounds minus 74,99 if I'll sing up for 18 month contract. After all details I have heard of sale man there will be some one comming to my flat at 16th of march (between 1pm and 6pm) to connect phone line into my flat. I get SMS on my mobile "An Openreach engineer will visit you on 16 Mar 1pm-6pm to install your telephony service, ref LJK90905" I asked for day of work to meet your engineer. There was no body from BT through whole day, with no information about absent. So I asked my manager from work to sort this out for me. And this is what he wrote for me about all situation. This letter been sended to one of the BT offices.

"Orginal account number

GB 07937009

To whom it may concern

I am finding it difficult to put into words what I think of your service or lack of it, I do not feel there is any one at BT who knows how each others department works or understands each others problems or solutions.

If i tell you I have been on the telephone for 9 hours and spoke to 29 different people just to get a socket fitted in my flat might give you some idea of the frustration I have had this talking to Cilin McKane in customer services on the 18th of march, after engineer to connect me did not visis my premises after being told on my original order there was no socket in the flat. I was told it was connected remotly?

Then on the 25th march i spoke to Julie in warrington who was going to confirm connection on 48 hours, no chance. 29th march I spoko to Emily on Lancashire who gave me a referane VOL-011-31102731663 who ring me back in 1 hour.

30th march was a greate waist of time.

I started ar 11:40 am. Spoke to julie in repair depd who passed me onto Jeff in the moving team who passed me onto Dan in sales who passed me on to Vivya on telephone lines who passed me on to customer service who passed me onto Dale in sales who passed me on to Lakski in Customer services who passed me on to a supervisor who help me on the phone 35 minutes by this time I had been on the telephone 90 minutes, this supervisor told me she would ring back with in 3 hours - no return call so after 3 hours I rang Dee who passed me on to Roy Collier in Enquires who passed me on to Avinish in repairs who promised to ring back - no call.

31st march I rang Amanda in faults who passed me onto Brian in Scotland who passed me onto Resolution team who said they would confirm the socket instalation with in 24 to 48 hours. It is now easter but still no contact.

7th april I spoke to Ramya in foults who passed me onto a supervisor who passed me onto Ineda in customer services who passed me onto Agay the supervisor who gave me Ref number VOL-011-31548095618 who would confirm the socket instalation. No one rang.

On the 14th april I rang again and spoke to Mathew in customer service who passed me onto Mark on the managemant team who passed me onto Fred in sales who gave me another reference number Vol011-3012242073 who passed me onto Leela who passed me onto a supervisor Shima who spoke to me but could not hear me so hung up. I rang back as I had only been on the phone 1 hour and spoko to Claire in repairs who gave me a new telephone number and ref number VOL011-3185950074 but gave me a connection date of 28th april between 1pm and 6pm.

Well Iam sorry but enough is enough. I feel you have lost a possible loyal and good customer but it is your loss if you treat all your customers like you have treat me, I am supprised you have any left. Please return any moneys payed Forthwith.

Yours Truly"

Since this letter been send I have not had my money back and on the top of that I have been charge of 0.48 pound for bill from 19th April 2010.

My brothers supervisor spend 9 hours on phone to sort it out as it's for my brother home.

Did any one had similar experience?

I hope you like it ;]

Thats shocking mate. Not with BT myself for reasons similar to what you have described. Personally i don't think they could find their own asses with both hands. Seems nowadays there are too many people sat behind desks passing customers from pillar to post without actually accomplishing anything.

Probably a good idea not to go with BT anyway. At least you found out what they are like before they connected you.

Good luck finding another supplier fella.

That's terrible, but not unusual, I got wrong end of the stick with few companies too eg. 3 network.

Just call Virgin, ask them if they cover your area and they will happily install broadband and chuck telephone line free of charge.

@All grammar esthetics

I did read it without problem and understood what was going on there, there was few mistakes, but hey - focus on essence :p

Sounds about right. BT are scum.

Back in '99, when I was self-employed, I had an unlimited dial-up connection with BT. All was fine until I got a phone call part way through 2000 informing me that my quarterly bill was something stupid like £500! After some messing about, I find out that BT have changed their pricing scheme without telling me and automatically downgraded me to the standard dial-up tarrif.

It took many phone calls over a few months to get to the bottom of this and I was supposedly put back onto the unlimited account. Now, by that time, they were rolling out their broadband service, which was the same price as the unlimited dial-up service.

I got put through to broadband sales and got all the information I needed and verified that in order to transfer my business email address and website over I would need a static IP address (at an extra £10). This was duly ordered and I awaited the connection date.

Connection day arrived and no-one turned up. I rang BT with my reference number to be told that there was no record of that on the system and I would have to re-order the package again.

That done, the second connection day arrived and everything was set up fine, until I got to the point of transferring my web & email, whereupon I got told I can't do that as I don't have a static IP address. 'Fine' I said rather testily - can you set up a static IP address then? "No, we can't do that, you'll have to cancel this order and start again" Bastards.

As there was no real choice in my area, I had to do this and eventually, after something like 3-4 months I finally got a broadband connection.

That sounds like the end of the story until you realise that during all this buggering about, I was still having to use the dial-up connection for work.

Cue the postman turning up with my end of year phone bill for a lovely £2800!

This is where I get annoyed as I was supposed to be on the unlimited tariff. Like you, I spent countless hours on the phone, being passed from one department to the next all denying any responsibility and failing to ring me back.

I finally managed to get through to someone who actually succeeds in refunding my original phone bill. Unfortunately, by this time, another six months or so had passed and I had another bill of about £1800 which I refused to pay.

In the end, it took over 4 years to resolve this and stop getting debt management letters threatening their usual crap.

BT are scum and deserve to be fucked in the eye with a stick full of AIDS.

BT are scum and deserve to be $#@!ed in the eye with a stick full of AIDS.

Or slap with big wet fish!

If I wanted to send a letter of complaint, and wanted to be taken seriously, I don't think I'd ask someone with dyslexia to write it for me!

How come you didn't write it for him?

Because my english is not any better :taped: and on the top of that my brothers supervisior been dealing with it for that 9 hours, so he knows better what realy happend.

Do you suffer from Dyslexia bud? Just curious if that is why you got the boss to write it. You both have a similar writing style.

I'll never go with BT again if I can help it. At the very most I might have a phone line installed and go with Sky or something.

No cable in the area?

No mate :) Just need to learn english better :) (I'm from abroad)

The man who write it up it was my brothers boss as I could not afford to stay on phone for so long.

Ahh follow you now. You're from abroad? Somewhere warm? Are you MAD? :D
