Steering Wheel fiting (Horn with an Issota Zulag)

First off, apologies for the quality of the pics. My camera doesn't like taking photos up close.

At JAE 2007, Matt Harwood fitted my Issota Zulag wheel while I went off to collect charity money. I had bough a steering wheel box from Paul Whiffin which had a cruise control adaptor built into the horn.

Until then, I've never touched it, but as the horn face was getting a bit worn, and since my single conversion the CC isn't connected, I thought I would put the original Issota horn in.

So I lever the CC horn out:

I thought it would be simply job and the original horn would just pop straight in.., but to my bewilderment, it doesn't seem to even fit! Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong and how to sort it out?

I've got no idea how it goes together. I can't even figure out how to get the wheel itself off the boss!!!

My second problem is I've now got 3 wires, (due to the cruise control), but i've read on another thread that I only need one of these wires for the horn, then another wire off to an earth connection? So which one is the right wire to use? and where should I run an earth too?

Cheers,

Matt

I have the Isotta Katiena. With mine you have to remove the allan key bolts on the surround part to the horn. (Can't remember if its just 2 you have to remove and the rest are fake or if you have to remove them all) that surround then comes off and you place the horn in position and put the surround back on. Thats what holds the horn in. Hope that helps mate.

Aye yes, I took the photo after I put the metalic surrond part back on.

I did orignally take it off to see what that did for me, but if you look at the first picture, the surrond sits around another chrome surrond, which I can't get off. I think it's attached permanetly to the wheel.

If it did come off, It would probably involve removing the wheel from the boss. Again, I can't see how to do that either :(

I'm pretty sure my manual has been in the garage for years too, but can't find it now :(

The bolt that holds the wheel to the boss is behind the backing of the horn assembly so that chrome ring must come off mate.

The black ring around your button that your trying to fit sits behind all that. See it here fitted.

Try taking that part off again thats held on with those allan key bolts and have another look bud.

Does it unscrew in any way? thats how my Katiena works but i dont have that chrome part. It def needs to come off somehow as the horn sits behind it.

No, there's no screws attached to remove it. I've tried gently prising it but there's no give.

I'm wondering If I need to get the wheel off to put the horn in from behind, but I can't work out how to do that either!!
