AndrewOW
Over recent times on any motorway, faster roads, I've noticed that when I'm well into second turbo territory there's a weird fluttering coming from the engine. It boosts normally to about .7 bar on first turbo, but on second it gets to .9 bar and starts to 'flutter' as though you're driving on a random rumble strip. It used to reach 1 bar without issue, but it's now getting worse. There's also a weird squeaky bouncing sound coming from the rear as though the car is being bounced over lots of small bumps which only happens when the turbo is fluttering. Any ideas?! Is it a slight boost leak in the second turbo hosing, or something more sinister?
Chris Wilson
Sounds more like the undertray is insecure to me, boost aside.
AndrewOW
Funny you should say that, it is loose. Would that cause the other 'effect' too, or should I get that fixed back on first, and go from there?
Chris Wilson
Fix the loose undertray and see what transpires.
