K&N 4" air filters ??? used on single turb set ups

My AEM is a dry filter and doesnt need to be cleaned (which I find a bit bizarre); I tend to air blow it every 6 months just to give me piece of mind.

K&N on the other hand need to be oiled - not sure whether that applies to their entire range..

K&N are lifetime guarenteed, I know the one you have and it's covered by the warranty. They are a wet filter so need oil applied when indicated (can't remember how often).

But do they need cleaning somehow or just spraying with there oil & if so how often ???

Just give it a blast of compressed air before applying new oil, don't go putting it in the dishwasher :D Not sure what type the oil is, but it's only a few quid from K&N.

amazing isnt it considering that the stock toyota air filter needs to be changed every service.

Not sure where you got that one from mate, the service schedule says to replace it every 30k miles or every 3 years, whichever is sooner.

I think the directions on the K&N cleaning kit tell you to use compressed air from the inside to the outiside to remove any loose debris, then spray with the cleaner, then using low pressure water from the inside wash the cleaner off and let it dry. Once dry apply the oil and again allow it do dry.

Job done.
