TLicense
Am thinking about getting a new C350 CDI auto estate and was wondering if anyone has any experience of them? I took one for a bit of a test drive and was pretty impressed but even though they let me take it out on my own (well it was actually me and a mate) it's pretty different to living with one for a period of time. Cheers,
tooquicktostop
I brought a new C200 CDI at christmas, love having a brand new car and the way it feels and drives, I would have liked a bit morepower but the economy factor and lower insurance was important for this as it spends hours and hours in traffic in London each week I went for the AMG Wheels and body kit which Merc gave me for free in the end with a fair bit of negociation I am very happy after 5000 miles and would recommend a new C class to anyone, the 350 should be a nice engine I would imagine

imi
It's said they have moved on from that "phase" now. possibly. not sure enough to regain my confidence in the brand. i'd get an Audi instead or perhaps a Honda.
Miguel
Audi are not without their problems, specially since going DI.
Snooze
IMO, having driven a few, I'm not sure I'd ever buy a Merc. With the possible exception of the top-of-the-range AMGs, I have never been in a Merc where I haven't thought that the equivalent BMW model just does everything slightly better, from reliability and drive through to interior and features. That said - I've never tried a BMW estate, so I've no idea what they're like.....

I'm looking at a kind of lease deal, so would only have it for a year at most before trading in for a replacement, and wouldn't have to pay for any servicing. For reasons I won't go into, it's either a Merc or nothing, but I don't want to be tied to a car that although OK on a 15 minute caining through the backroads... er I mean test drive ( ) is a white elephant to live with longer term. A C63 AMG estate is a possibility, but I'll have to see what the costs pan out like.

So you're thinking of using the partner lease scheme then? I have a friend at Maclaren that used the scheme a few years back, he opted for the 300C, the doughnut. paulrenn
Had an SLK (new model) from new and it was really excellent. I think the new C is really nice, much prefer it over the 3 series. The 350 should be really torquey!

I have a friend at Maclaren that used the scheme a few years back, he opted for the 300C, the doughnut. Kind of, but not. There's a couple of other factors also being applied. We've not been told the firm figures of what the costs are yet, but if it's as good as they're suggesting it could be, it's a bloody good deal. Miguel
It'd be nice if the numbers match the sales pitch. I did mean the cars in my last post and not the pushchairs, I keep making that typo.
Alex
I had a boggo C200K AMG for a hire car one week - loved it.
