From how you're describing it the Police are the ones that should have had better control on the situation...they should have made them carry on and not let them jump in.

Yes, that would have seemed the best option. Maybe the copper was more concerned with clearing the outer lane by any means, but I agree he should have told the guys to either get going down the DC or face a charge of obstruction.

Is going in the right hand lane approaching a round about then doing a loop all the way around and taking your desired exit on the second loop illegal? Thats another one you see a lot of and can sometimes annoy if you are in the que to turn left. But simply if it is in contravention of the highway code I dissaprove, if not then surely the driver is just choosing the most efficient route to get to his destination.

Its a sneaky one and if i saw you doing it i would point blank not let you filter in, just like a local roundabout wen people use the second lane to sneak through straight ahead and jump the que, its my pet hate and i always block the filter lane (all twenty feet of it) if the person who is trying to come through has just gone up the right hand/turn right at the roundabout lane, pisses me right of:diablo:

If I was a copper and on duty there on that day... that would have been what I would have done :D

The problem comes when you come across someone doing this in a company or banger car where there is no attachment and no concern over a few dents and scratches. No matter how brave you feel and no matter how annoyed you are chances are they will win one way or another.

Why block the filter lane though? Why not filter as the name suggests? Maybe next time you could use the outside lane to minimise the queue in "your" lane and thus prevent traffic queuing back onto the roundabout in question.

This is why a US style box junction could never work in the UK, it's populated by people who think they have a right to manage the roads based on their own rules rather than adopting the approach that it doesn't really matter if a car gets in front and arrives at it's destination 2 seconds before you.

Having said all this I do like the annoy other drivers to the point of rage at times if it's a boring drive (which is always tends to be in morning city centre traffic).

I agree, they should have made them carry on. However with people doing burnouts in the line. i think they had better fish to fry.

Id also like to say hello to the supra owner that stacked it on the track. Brave to take a supra on that track in wet.

May i add that it was an auto also which makes it twice as bad especially as it said already the track was greasy  and also definantly a track not ideally suited for the supra i.e short straights and lots of twisty corners.

I kinda felt sorry for him tho because he had obviuosly put a fair bit of money into his car. But the fact that he looked and seemed a bit of a chav and showing of to his mates, i didnt feel sorry for him for long. :p

(awaits for said driver to come on here and start giving me some abuse now) LOL

All true, and especially the last comment;) oh! and the roundabout in question is always backed up as people just stupid and don't give a fook, mind you i once out braved a foreign artic who thought he could bully his way onto the already backed up RB and got away with it, however i am inclined to think i was just as stupid as brave;)

And the filter lane is a design afterthought as i said its about twenty feet long and only just wide enough for two small cars, its the usual scenario, the RB has only two road exits and one to a shopping mall, so you either use the outside to turn left or go straight on and the right for the mall or go back the way you came.

O M G i had gone home by then :(

The orange one, not our one another one. I think he had annoyed one of our lot anyway. I was thinking of offering him cash for the trail rear.

Their driving would have annoyed me too. There are some things that aren't prohibited by rules and legislation, but still shouldn't be done as courtesy to others.

Letting one or two cars ahead of you isn't a problem, but it very rarely stops at that. If the queue is large, it can have a big knock-on effect. I'm sure many of you are familiar with what it's like getting out of the car park after one of the big summer music festivals has ended. People push into the queue all the time. You can easily sit there for several hours in your car waiting to leave the site. To my mind the queue-jumpers aren't just optimising their way out, they're driving in an arrogant, "too cool to queue" way.

That winds me up on motorways or dual carigeways when its coned down to 2 or 1 lane, i move over now and block the lane like the truckers do.

They shall not pass :D

I threw a tin of sardines at the last person who did that to me.
