David P
I am retro fitting the headlamp levelling circuit, and have found a club member with a U.K. loom to pick at, but he can't find the nest of 4 relays. I have found an illustration of their location in the workshop manual, (shown below) but it would appear that this does not help. Does anyone know where these are hiding, or better still, could post a snap of what they look like so he can find it amongst the heap of wires in his shed. Thank you Edited May 5, 2010 by David P (see edit history)
bigbloodyturbo
Why dont you make your loom like on here http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/euro_glass_headlight/install/index.html They dont automatically level, you have to set the level iirc. Even then its only if you have stuff/people in the back.
David P
I am converting all lamps to HID's which are less forgiving when not levelled correctly, and also cart loads of stuff around in the back and drive long distances too. I have the OEM U.K. control knob, and the workshop manual shows this wired through 4 relays. I have a nest of 4 slip control relays I could use, but it would be a lot simpler if it could be wired in without them.
bigbloodyturbo
If you buy your headlights from toyota they're aimed correctly from the factory. I put 4300k hid's in my glass headlights (best addition ever btw) and the only time i get flashed is when i got a bit over zealous and kept turning the height on the passenger side up. That pissed people off. As for relays, you can use any relays, they don't have to be slip control efforts or even from a car at all. That diagram i linked to though is a good way to do it and is reasonably simple.
