Nic
Do you have a boost gauge fitted? Are you seeing positive boost?
pistonbroke
Do you have a boost gauge fitted? Are you seeing positive boost? He's never seen positive boost, it's an NA ----- Is it firing on all cylinders mate, or is it clearly missing.? If the triangle is on, something is definitely amiss, check for fault codes. ManwithSupra
Have you pulled the error codes as yet? That is what i would do first at least then it could show you where to start looking, I would then pull the plugs to check them for damage (missing ceramic etc), then do a compression test to be safe. Get all that out of the way first then go from there.
pistonbroke
You might be right about the CAT mate, it would certainly increase temps, but I've never seen one let go all of a sudden, they break up over time AFAIK.

Scooter
Surely with the cat warning light and the symptoms (sluggish and misfire) of this being blocked mean it must be that?............I'd whip it off and start the car without it and see if it starts, idles and revs ok.........I have a NA 2nd cat if it is that and you want one quickly.... themodifiedkid
Just clutching at straws here but have you checked ht leads, distributor cap/rotor arm, (all that polishing you did yesterday you've probably polished through the ht leads and moisture has got in LOL) Mind you faulty ht leads etc wouldn't account for the high temps
Rob_Mitchell
right guys i think i have solved the problem, i stripped it all down and i noticed the back 2 plugs gallerys were full of water due to the rear heater hose having a tiny slit in it. this is obviously causing the misfire, just need to order that hose tomorrow. thanks everyone for the pm's and replys yet again everyone has been awesome.
