tbourner
Have gas and electric gone up alot recently? I know there are a few similar threads but no answers to whether wholesale gas and leccy have gone up? We were with Southern Electric for 3 years ish, paying the same amount each month more or less (about £75-£80 IIRC), then last August we switched to NPower cos they said the amount we use they could do for £57 a month. All good. Our meter reading has just gone in and since we had cavity walls done we were hoping to pay even less - nope, going up to £108 a month!! WTF!! So should I switch again? Also, I went through Greasypalm to get £20 cashback for single fuel and £40 for dual fuel changeover to NPower - supposed to be with them for 3 months before getting the CB - Greasypalm say it's been reversed (invalidated by retailer) and it was only for £20 even though I changed both!! NPower are just being c*nts basically and I don't know why.
Wez
They have us over a barrel sadly. In the petrol station this morning I noticed that unleaded had gone up again since a couple of days ago, the cashier confirmed another price hike happened yesterday. 121.9p for a ltr of unleaded, the robbing c**ts
Sakey
I know what you mean about Npower. They did send me a bill for the last 4 months usage for 1800 of my English Pounds! Luckly the reader monkey manged to put the wrong numbers in the wrong way round Corrected is still very high for what I use. I would switch provider but I dont think the others are much different... Terminator
Expect domestic energy prices to double every 5 years in the next decade after that, doubling every 3 years.

I suspect a bit faster than that , and fuel prices to double within 2 years, £2.50 a litre will probably effect how and what people drive

Nodalmighty
Think yourself lucky mine is £90 with them for gas and electric. Mine is £84 with EDF although since putting modern lagging in the roof and the latest Pilkington A double glassing and having the walls cavity filled(council subsidised) I only seem to have the gas on for cooking and hot water now. As we are both out all day the electric bill is quite small. Lyndon.
b_have
Mine is mostly electric, all the heating is done by woodburner (used over 3 tonnes last winter)
