Andrew Dunk Shaw
Having read lots of info on the various induction kits, i thought i'd ask what you guys think. Im going to change from the hks unit, as i cant find a differant filter that will fit the hks pipewrk. Im looking for advice on which way to go. Think the main thing has got to be that the filter is up to the job. I dont want to waste another chunk of dosh so whats your thoughts boys. Andrew Dunk Shaw
Yes im begining to think the same thing. So is there a second best option, ive virtually got my own airbox designed now which will use the stock intake which sits on top of the radiator and also from underneath the headlamp using some donkey dik tubing and airducts that will sit behind the cut out in the stock front bumper where the drivers side indicator is. (or maybe a bit more) (It comes in it's own plastic grid holder thingy.). you can't get just the paper filter, you need to buy the whole £30 thingy and then it basically just slots into the filter housing. Im only thinking of changing the hks induction kit due to a few comments on here and else where that the filters are not very good. I can solve the under bonnet temps with my own custom airbox but im looking for an induction kit with a filter that does its job. If there isnt an induction kit that comes with a good filter then i will go back to the stock airbox.
Alex
Apex'i Intake is the "best" proven cone filter but there could be better newer designs.

Suprash
Andrew, as you know I have been looking into this as well, and from what I have gathered Apexi are the best followed by Blitz, K&N, and then HKS, these were bassed on filteration results. Check these out that were passed on to me: http://www.ftooc.org/contents/pages/project/filter.htm http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/1/index.html http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/index.html

Looks like the Apexi is the best aftermarket filter then, and the HKS the worst. You got your ride height problem sorted yet ?
Suprash
Andrew, nope, in another garage wednesday, they have asured me that they will figure it out. Yes, the Apexi one is the best, thats what I wanted but you cant get it with the meta flow thingy, so mine being the VVTI it wont fit, still next best thing, Blitz.....!!!
