pistonbroke
After my last thread with my killer goldfish, I've done eveything I can think of to sort it out, bigger tank etc etc. Introduced 2 new fish today, the full gold and the canary, and within minutes he's after both of them. He's clearly an antisocial little bastard with a taste for cannibalism. So what do you reckon?
Attero
A natural born killer... lethal injection I say.
SupraStar 3000
humm, maybe you could put those sucking skills to good use!
tbourner
Stick a proper fighting fish in there. If he kills that as well you could get people round and take bets on fish fighting, I'm sure a shark would win.

Thorin
Stick a proper fighting fish in there. If he kills that as well you could get people round and take bets on fish fighting, I'm sure a shark would win. The "fighting fish" would soon die, goldfish are cold water. Get a few Danio's small fast little buggers might keep him distracted a bit.
adnanshah247
post him to me, i have two goldfish about 10 times the size of him, i had the same issue once, introduced the lil bugger from my nieces tank to my big boys and he got his ass kicked left round and center! he quietly minds his own business now! SteveC
Put it in one of those small, floating isolation tanks for a day or two, then let it back out. If it does the same thing again, stick it back in isolation. It will learn eventually... and no baseball to play with.
AlexM
Kill it with fire!
Wez
Stick it in a river somewhere or an isolation tank as already mentioned
Rob_Mitchell
batter him

Angarak
I like the idea of sticking it in a tank with bigger fish, or the 'tough love' isolation method.
reeceu
its like a chav on heat!! introduce it to the sewer crocs!!
Animal
Drop a couple of Mogadon tablets into the water - that should calm it down.
Rob_Mitchell
just put it in a hanky and smash it one, or buy loads of these snails off me and false feed the fish ( if its fat it wont be as fast)
AndrewOW
I think it's time to remove him from the tank, or section it off so he has a small area to swim in, but the others have the rest of the tank to themselves. Failing that, decapitation.
evinX
leave him in a tank on his own, if he dies he dies. Sorry but thats the way it goes, dont kill him youll be the bad one in the end. Just a bad fishie.
Tricky-Ricky
Looks like he is harassing the others because he is probably a male and they are female, and he just wants to mate, how would you feel if somebody flushed you when you where busy chatting up a likely female at the local bar;) You should try keeping African cichlids, aggression is a part of daily life for them, most of mine have been issued an ASBO, but i still find one beaten to death on occasion. tbourner
Positive reinforcement shaping? Find a time when he's swimming elsewhere and give him some food. Timing will be tricky though.
pistonbroke
Cheers guys, I've given my old smaller tank to my sister in law and she's going to have him. He'll live on his own for the rest of his days. I've been and bought another all white goldfish, so now I have a gold, canary yellow and white
DanGX
That's what I reckon, we used to have aquarium fish with a couple of agressive fish over the years. He could be trying to get his end away to be honest, but try isolation. Not sure using bigger fish would help, I remember very distinctly having an agressive gold fish chase down my larger cichlids. Never thought of faster fish. Not the worst idea in the world. At the end of the day if he's continues to be a pain in the arse, take him out of the tank, balance him on the end of a shovel, throw him in the air and smack him as hard as you can on his return back to earth. Decapitated one once. But I only used to do it to the terminal/really sick fish. "What the-"*THUNK*
Dozymare
Alternatively put them in a tupperware tub in the freezer (with some water obviously). Hypothermia isnt a bad way to go and you haven't got the mess or risk of it going wrong
