Guest BHP>MPG
Guys I'm going to test drive a car at the weekend hopefully, maybe with the intention of buying it but more to see how I like the auto gearbox and if I think I can live with it. Is there anything I should be looking out for? It's from a dealership if it makes a difference. It's 1993, L reg, automatic twin turbo, and priced at £4750 but nothing is declared to be wrong with it. Cheers
ilicos
That is very very cheap if it is genuine. The auto boxes are very good and have manu-mode. See here:http://www.mkivsupra.net//vbb/showthread.php?t=67644&highlight=buying+guide
Guest BHP>MPG
It does seem genuine, and comes with warranty (even if it is a month or so) It also claims to deal in jap cars so it makes me all the more curious as to why it's so cheap. ilicos
What is the mileage and spec? There are loads of Supra owners in Essex, see if any can come with you.
Guest BHP>MPG
80,000 miles. I don't think it's an import as registration date is 1993.
sams
My supra is a 94 on a L plate, auto tt, also alloys had been refurbed about a week before I purchased it and it was advertised for 4.5k, but I gave him my wrx and 2k cash, and rough value of my wrx is 1.3k to 1.5k but I technically sold my wrx for 2.5k, some people don't no how to value cars
Guest BHP>MPG
I've got a car to P/X but it's whether he wants it or not...he probably won't which causes problems for me.
sams
When you look at it look at the v5 for the date of reg, mine is a 94 reg'ed as a 93 L but was registered in dec 2004, I would think it a import, which some people say are more expensive to insure but I found mine cheaper to insure than a uk equivilent
scotty71
yes press manu, put it in two and floor it, all up the rev range then move to d. Like to see the dealers face lol. Auto box is great drive just in d or manu mode
heckler
mines a 93 "L" and an import...
tbourner
Have you got pictures you can post? We'll know if it's a UK or import then and be able to see how clean it looks.
scotty71
wont be a UK for 4750 unless the garage is clueless
tbourner
wont be a UK for 4750 unless the garage is clueless Especially with that low mileage as well.
add heywood
has it got a bonnet scoop and washer jets on the bumper for the headlights? Classic things to show its a uk car (although these bits can be added to a jap import). As said get some pics up, or a link to the advert so we can have a nosey... stevie_b
Things to watch out for: Blue smoke on startup Is the cabin heater capable of getting hot? ... and all the other usual car-buying things to watch out for.

Post some more info on here so we can help, buying the wrong TT can be an expensive painfull business.
DaveR
Hope it all works out for you. This could be the deal of the year! Care needed, of course, but still...
Guest BHP>MPG
has it got a bonnet scoop and washer jets on the bumper for the headlights? Classic things to show its a uk car No bonnet scoop or washer jets so it appears it is an import Post some more info on here so we can help, buying the wrong TT can be an expensive painfull business. What other info would you like? Not much else I can gather but I can always email the dealer if there's anything people think I should be asking before I go to view it. scotty71
The mileage seems to have been an issue as per my PM to you with Haydn selling at 143k miles... just check it out and dont rush into buying. Haydn's ad was an honest ad etc just check it out and dont rush into buying
themodifiedkid
Yeah that mileage appears to be a wee bit tampered with. If it was me and I had that info I would either walk away or really question the seller about it.
ilicos
143000km = 89375miles. Maybe that is where the dealer gets that from?
