Aerotop Dave
Probably. My understanding is that the stock amp is 'a bit crap'. Any decent head unit would sound better by bypassing the thing altogether. At this point I will point out however that I know sod all about this subject so you're better off asking someone else. Alternatively, the search button should throw up a few ideas. JohnK
If you are using one of the hafords type steroe harnesses then the stock amp will be bypassed. Unplug it, if you still get sound, its bypassed.

It's not that it's crap. I think it's to do with aftermarket headunits are more powerful and do not require the amp which serves to distort the audio signal. DBR
my aftermarket stereo has a lot of interferance (anoying buzzing noise, especially when head lights turned on!?), could this be because it is connected to the amp and shouldn't be? ???? anyone got any ideas what this could be?? ta
Pete
Poor earthing? Those earth points get a little old and dodgy after 10 years. Hadyn says his helped when he bought an earthing kit for the engine.
