The Raven
Well i have 3 people booked in for job interviews today. Number one was due at 10am. He has sent a CV, read the pack that has been sent to him agreed a time and date and offered to bring various bits and bobs. Well.....................he no shows. No phone call nothing. Why do these people bother? Number two is due at 11.30 Number three is due at 1.30, however i had a phone call from the job center to "check" he had booked an interview. There is only one way out i can see.........lots and lots of wiskey in my coffee. Anyone local to me need a sales job? must have the ability to turn up for an interview. Ho hum guess i will drink more coffee till the next one no shows or as i fear turns up in trainers and trackies and greets me with "Hey man you alright bruv init" Number one has been sent an email informing him he has missed his interview and he wont be getting another one. The Raven
The rest have been in, number 2 the one i thought would be the best bitched about money the whole time he was here then claimed not to be just in it for the money. Then suggested i should go into fitting roofs? Number 3 the one i was dreading for the job center. Was keen as fuck and dam nice chap i have offered him the post. The Raven
Update. Number 3. Was offered the job, then refused to return emails, phone calls and the info pack. I would guess he went back to the job center and told them he didnt get it. So once again i give the ever learnerd and hardworking people of thanet another go! Now lets bare in mind we have one of the highest rates for the jobless in the uk, 4 weeks the ad has been in the job center number of CVs....................2............. Number one seemed to have some selling experance so was offered an interview. Number two by all accounts seems to be a high functioning chimp of somekind. Needless to say he wasnt given an interview. So the interview is arranged only for #1 to phone up the day before and ask to move it to half an hour before as she has the dentist. Alarm bells should have been ringing but i agreed. So day of the interview her time comes and goes. 5 minutes later she rings up and says shes lost. Now bare in mind she lives less than 2 minutes drive from me (clearly showing she has not had the mind to atleast look for the place in the week before) so i tell her that by the time she gets here that leaves 10 minutes for the interview before she has to leave to make the dentist on time. I explain that isnt enough time for an interview and i will rebook. She gets the arse, and has thus far not returned the email to confirm of reject the second date. Once again the murky world of signing on in thanet has runined my day and wasted my time. In short i will never EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR bother trying the job center again. All they do is force people to apply so they can tick the "i tried to find work" box when the clearly dont want the job.

The-Plethora
I have sat in on a few, we hit one guy with the generic "what is your weakest point?" and got "sometimes I am just too professional", a term that gets bandied around. It must be frustrating when you are dealing with known dolites who are just there to waste time so they have something to show. On the other side of it I do hate when adverts are vague, give little clue about money or roles. I went for an interview where the advert made out it was an IT role, what they actually wanted me to do was to travel the country fixing dodgy software on car park pay machines with a laptop! waste of my time and theirs. Attero
The job center is an awful place to look for employees. They are all so dim and a lot of them should just be put down since they are a whole load of resource wasting nutjobs. I would never employ someone from the job center. If they want a job, they should come and look for the damn thing rather than sitting around happily enjoying more benefits by getting their underage girls pregnant. They don't want a job. They are happy where they are.

Havard
Why are people so proud that they didn't sign on? I was out of work for 8 months and pocketed over £1600. Came in handy even though I had to spend 20 minutes with all the dobbers every fortnight. H.

I guess you've signed on because you are facing financial difficulties? Or just enjoy "pocketing" money?

Big Mark
The job center is an awful place to look for employees. They are all so dim and a lot of them should just be put down since they are a whole load of resource wasting nutjobs.. It must be nice to be in a position to look down on others but with the current economic climate with people losing their jobs and homes sometimes they have no choice but to end up at the job centre, not by choice but as a last resort. Speaking from experience I went into a job centre once about ten years ago and 99% of the people in there were scummy scrotey oiks getting their free hand out so they could blow it on drugs, booze and/or fags but being out of work currently and applying for 100's of jobs I've ended up losing a home and am back with my parents and have had no choice but to sign on as a last resort and a far greater percentage of the people in there are older, respectable and just unfortunate victims of the current situation. I hope other employers out there don't share your attitude, especially the one I had an interview with this week!

They will offer you half of what your worth. 1# emailed back, saying as its self empolyed she does not want the interiew. In other words the job center told her she didnt have to come as its not employed work. Lets be frank here. I sold 3 jobs on my own the other day based on the comission i would pay that would have been a take home of £167 for less than 6 hours work. I cant wait for the nice lady from the job center to ring me...........
