probrox
After we had to put our 10yo German Shepherd to sleep last month the house felt really empty without him, so we didn't waste any time in looking for a new little boy to spoil. We're planning on having kids early next year so we did some research on breed profiles and in the end decided on a Bernese Mountain Dog. We managed to find a puppy for sale in Kent and put a deposit down for him as soon as we saw him. This is what he looked like then (4 weeks old): We picked him up on Friday evening and this is what he looks like now (8 weeks old): He's gone from 2kg to 6kg in the last 4 weeks so i thought I'd better get lots of pics, he wont stay this small for long

Swampy442
Lol awesome! Theyre big feckers for sure I know what you mean about the empty house thing, since Buster passed the house feels dead even though he pretty much slept all the time anyway! Im off to a rescue centre on friday for a prospective new charity case lol.

pistonbroke
Great choice mate, he looks lovely. They're impossibly handsome dogs when mature too. http://www.dogencyclopedia.org/Bernese%20Mountain%20Dog.jpg http://www.bernesemountaindogpuppies.ca/bernesemountaindogimages/verushcaBerneseMountainDog.jpg

ozz
Beautiful dogs, I'd love either a BMD or a Leonburger, very similar looking but the leonburger is twice the size. My wife starts her new job tomorrow so now that there isn't someone home all day we can't risk a new dog, not fair on them. Looking at your pics really makes me want one tho! We had Leonburger on the shortlist along with Newfoundlands, Pyrenese Mountain Dog and St Bernard. All great looking dogs. He is cute Phil, He is going to be big. Sorry to hear that you had to have your dog put to sleep, You did so much for him to help with his cancer. Thanks mate. The cancer spread to his nervous system in the end so he lost control of his legs and couldn't get up anymore. It was a hard thing to do but we couldn't stand seeing him like that and not being able to help him anymore.

She's 7 now and is never far from my side, I'd be devastated to lose her so know how you feel. I'm sure he would be happy to know you've found a new friend to keep you company now he can no longer be there with you.
