Bossco
if you swap your HD over then all your game info will come with it. Your live account will remain the same regardless of the machine you use to log into it. Have you tried fixing your xbox with the repair kits from ebay? I fixed mine at christmas and it's been fine ever since. It cost me £3.99 and about 2 hours in time. it's a really easy job and worth a try before you fork out for an elite. TopgunTT
Have you checked all your cable's are in correctly? If you do buy a new elite then just swap over your hard drive and sell the new one, Should make at least £40 on ebay. Touchwood we have 4 xboxes in my house and never had the red ring of death. Bossco
It wont be broken, just it's mother board will have warped with the heat and it will have broken contact with on of it's chips which causes RROD. Buy on of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XBOX-360-RROD-REPAIR-KIT-X-CLAMP-XCLAMP-FIX-E-74-ERROR_W0QQitemZ160380537266QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN?hash=item25576cc9b2 It comes with a PDF file showing you exacly how to fix it. Worth £3.95 before buying a new console. Mine has been used every day for 4 months since I fixed it without any problems.
Swampy442
Not worth the effort IMO, Ive got 5 Xboxes scattered round my house, mostly banned off xbox live (ahem) but any repair isnt permenant. Id advise for the sake of 100 quid get a new Arcade with the Jaspar chipset, transfer your hard drive across, job done.
