6 month insurance policies?

Does anyone know of a company that does a 4-6 month insurance policy for a singled supe?

 

Had lots of quotes for putting it on the road for the summer but only 12 month policies with expensive options to cancel early.

 

Most are around a 35% refund minus an admin charge if you cancel the cover before 4 months which makes it very expensive for short term cover.

 

I rarely use the supe (33 miles last year) as it is just for fun, if and when I have time, but would love to find an affordable option to insure it. Someone on here kindly pointed out that last year I paid over £26 per mile in insurance which I do not fancy doing this year.

I wouldn't have thought this would be worth it for insurance companies as just because you are only driving it for 6 months doesn't mean you will drive it half as much as a 12 month policy;)

 

Limited mileage is a better idea as insurance prices are relative to risk and by agreeing to a mileage limit is a better method for limiting the risk.

 

I also don't see how NCB would work with 6 month policies

 

Best thing you could do is ring around, maybe try and add a lady driver (not sure this will work for a single turbo though) and limit your mileage on the policy if you haven't already.

why would you want it uninsured for 6/8 months? fire, theft, damaged who knows what could happen.

Because it is stored in a building at my home address and is covered when not in use by a seperate policy which covers all of my cars when in storage.
