Dyno of Sequential Turbos

Recommended Posts

Attached is a graph showing the inital dyno run the garage did in my car whilst the turbos were still in the stock sequential setup. It shows the drop in pressure/torque as the 2nd turbo comes on line, you can also see the power tailing off early due to insufficient fueling.

is that dip where the second turbo kicks in?

seen a few dyno sheets dip in middle like that.

his other dyno chart of his TTC mod looked a real good graph.this is of his car in standard sequential mode.

would like to see what mods he has done, seems like he is well into his supras.

post some more info up

thanks

This dyno run was taken when I first took the car to the garage it was done when I was having boost and misfire problems due to a knackered fuel pressure regulator and waste gate actuator. This thread is about the change to TTC and performance after being mapped on the dyno:

Mark yes the dip in the graph is the transition stage as the second turbo comes in, for list of mods go here:

Chris, no still running on the original J-spec turbos, hybrids will probably be the next step though next year.

The tuning shop has saved all the data from the dyno runs they did so I'll try and get a printout to show the boost/torque graph after the tuning work was done. I was also going to try and get a printout of the A/F ratio throughout the rev range, any other graphs you think would be interesting to get/post?

cheers

I went to one on saturday just gone. Was very dissapionted with the results though.

Running 0.8 bar on stage 3 hybrids it 'only' recorded 204bhp @ the wheels). I think that it was wheelspinning while it was on the rollers though, my tyres are almost bald.!!!

It was dyno'd on the same dyno by JB when it was stock and got 245bhp @ wheels. So, by fitting an FMIC, full blitz nur specR and de-catted, and the hybrids, its 'lost' over 40bhp.!

I think not! Fueling was a little rich at top end (10% @ full throttle) so I'm going to run a bit more boost, but to say I was dissapioned in an understatement! He did say its very hard to measure the engine power on an auto, but said it did get to well over 300bhp, which did cheer me up a little, other than that he said it was a very healthy engine.

I am still baffled why you are only running 0.8bar. Even with those "Smart Car" sized injectors it should be OK at 1.1 to 1.2 bar, especially in this weather. Does sound low though. The hybrids will come into their own with more boost.

I think we should wait a little while longer for dyno sheets as the new Stage 4's are just going on the first car. They are F***ing huge compared to stock. They are using a new wheel design so should be very interesting indeed.
