Marty
I've got a few electrical items on sale on eBay, and a guy from Pakistan has contacted me. He would like to pay me with Western Union, which is something i've never used before, or even considered using because of its dodgyness. Now, i've heard the horror stories with regards to people losing all their money when they have paid a scammer using Western Union, but what about if it is me receiving the payment? Is it still just as dodgy. He tells me he can't pay by paypal because it isn't available in Pakistan. He only has a low feedback score, 4, but what he has bought, is very similar to what i'm listing, and he has received positive feedback for it. RobSheffield
I would say no. Western Union is pretty lame. Paypal at worst, or preferably a bank transfer using the international banking details.
Scott
We used western union a few years back when we got robbed abroad. As long as you can collect the transfer as cash I see no problems. I wouldn't be giving them my bank details though.

Terminator
I would not sell to him period. Feedback too low and no paypal is a no for me.
Snooze
It's true about PayPal. They don't support users in Pakistan. If he's willing to transfer as cash through WU, and happy for you to not send the goods until you have cash in hand, then I see no problems - he is the one running the risk of you not sending the goods. The-Plethora
I wouldn't get involved with anything tainted with western union.
Scott
I don't see the issue if its a cash transaction. As long as you have notes in your hand and don't need to provide bank details I can't forsee any problems at all.
Marty
That's what i was thinking, it is him taking the risk not me, so i may go ahead with it, there is a branch of western union not too far away so i'll get him to send the dosh there and see how it goes. Thanks Snooze, least he wasn't making the paypal thing up, had me wondering.
Matt H
sounds ok, just wait till you get the money in your hand before sending anything out WU is a major problem when sending cash, recieving it tends to be better.
