edge
Well its older than me. The 3 hour drive home was scary and exiting and put a smile on my face. It needs a bit of tlc and alot of body done correctly to make it how i would like but its the slowest most fun car i have owned or even driven. I hope to get a few little things sorted and bring it to japfest and sneak it onto our club stand. So i guess im a true toyota nut now. So here is my 1968 Toyota Corona. Dave
2JZ transplant? : what a sleeper that would be
edge
2JZ transplant? If you see the size of the half shafts you'd wonder how they dont twist with about 50bhp. If anything a nice black top on throttle bodies would suit it well. If i do change things i will make it so it can go back to stock but it will remain as is for a while yet. Just need to get my mate to see it will be a good project for him to put in his spray booth and have free labour

JODY T
Lol James, WTF is that lol, I know you wanted an old motor but a 68? does it even go to 60? seriously it looks real nice example, surly modding would ruin it.
Abz
I think it looks in pretty good nick! What's the mileage on her & specs?

Just about gets to 70 without pushing too hard and i think book speed is a massive 87mph so i will shocked if i ever get a ticket in this. Its fairly clean but the guy who owned it before me done a diy spray and filler job and that is what lets it down really but i have a couple of mates with body shops so maybe a winter job for them And you didn't tell me you got it I absolutely have to pop round and have a ride in that! No driving it like the GT4 though please! Good to have a toy again though I bet! Well done! You have to plan corners and braking about 3 hours before carrying out the manoeuvres so i will get a route set up this week I think it looks in pretty good nick! What's the mileage on her & specs? Mileage reads 40k but its done more than that so maybe 140k but its had an engine rebuild not so long ago and runs really well. Specs.. erm..... Slow not that economical very slow has a heater inside slow windows and wheels Looks ok from the pics but as i said before i want the body work done with less filler
edge
Oh and lots of pics of restoration. Two big folders of old mots, receipts dating back to late 60's. First owner 24 years and last owner who was a toyota tech owned it for 18 years.

I volunteer! Any change of colour planned when you get the bodyshop on it? What were the standard colours for this car? Beige, dark beige, light beige? Would be good to keep it as original as poss and if changing the engine, make sure you keep it in safe in the shed!
Jimmer
This is the scariest car I have ever driven!
