defector
I'm preparing my Supra for it's SVA test and the final thing I need to do is fit one of those resticter units to the neck of the petrol tank so I don't fill it with leaded and kill my Cat. Durr... Anyway has anyone who's imported theirs done this conversion and how, as my SVA is set for Friday and I'm down to trying to make one or try to rip the one off my MkIII to get past the test. Any help or ideas welcome.
Digsy
You can get a screw-in cap with a spring loaded nozzle hole which is the right size. You don't remove the cap to fill up, just poke your nozzle through the hole (oo-er). The guys at JIC showed my one when I was there. Try calling them to see where they get them from. Paul Whiffin
I'm pretty sure if its pre-96 you dont need one fitted. Can't remember if it was pre95 or 96, one of the 2.
Ian C
Mine is a 96 import and it doesn't have a restrictor. Hurrah, that means I can fill up in under an hour. -Ian
Digsy
Whatever the year, its not an MOT requirement, so you can remove any restrictor after the SVA test.
Paul Whiffin
I've got one of those caps with the hole in it, I stick it in for the SVA and then remove it afterwards, much easier and cheaper for me that way.
