Snooze
Hurrah! Having seen the pilot episode (a lot of which was filmed at Doune Castle near Stirling), HBO have funded filming of the first series. If you're a fan of this kind of stuff - medieval/fantasy with gritty/adult themes - this has the potential to be amazing - The books (at least, the ones that George Martin has written so far) are my favourite read and are thoroughly recommended. Snooze
So - did anyone else watch the first episode last night? Personally I thought it was a cracking effort. If they can keep up that level of quality and faithfulness to the books it's going to be a superb series. Glad HBO didn't shy away from the gratuitous violence, sex and shocking story lines from the books.

ozz
I too have sky+'d this so glad it looks like living up to the hype. Blood and Sands was very good, only half way through it.

Blood and Sand was awesome, the new Gods of the Arena is better than I expected with it being a prequal and all.
