nevins
Are there any freddy fans on her, if so im sorry to break the news to you but the legend robert englund is not freddy in the new movie. They are using an actor called jackie earle haley. Here is a link to the official site for the film. I am shocked at the choice of actor for freddy, the body and face structure is completly wrong and as for the voice, freddy now sounds like bloody batman. http://www.nightmareonelmstreet.com/

AndrewOW
I think the new guy will be excellent IMO. Then again, I've never watched any of the previous Nightmare on Elm Street films, so I can't really comment!

AndrewOW
I think I will sleep soundly, as I don't understand why people get so scared of films, etc, as they are only films. Except maybe Paranormal Activity* *And I haven't watched that either!
j_jza80
Yeah, its the guy from Watchmen who played Rorschach. I thought he played Rorschach really well, I think he'll be good. I'm quite glad they're injecting some new life into the franchise, which IMO was in serious danger of becoming a 'straight to DVD' series. marcAB10
It is odd to think it won't be englund as Freddie this time but I reckon It will be interesting to see how the new guy does. He was great as rorschach! I love the old films, watched everyone back to back when I got the boxset.

AndrewOW
Its a quote out of the childrens rhyme on the films lol. I wasn't saying you wouldnt Yes, I know it was a quote from the film. I've seen bits of it, but when everything looks so rubbery I lose interest very quickly. I was scared witless by the original Evil Dead film in 1983, but watching it again a few years ago, it was worse than pants!
Mike
I'm usually completely against remakes, but the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake wasn't that bad.... this could be OK? At least I hope so. OK, I'm trying to stay positive. Don't mess with the classics. It will never be the eighties nightmare we all remember... at the time it was genuinely chilling... Try and think of this as a tribute to how good the original was

AndrewOW
And the best thing about the new Massacre film was Jennifer Beal in those jeans and tied t-shirt!
nevins
When they were first released it was hell of a collection of films. the problem I can only see about the new film is that freddy now sounds like a super hero instead of a weasely haunting voice. The clip with his face is also to built up too, englund's face structure was perfect now it looks like freddys ate all the pies lol
