Hey there,

Just got myself Nick's red UK TT6 yesterday, had a great time driving it around most of last night! Anyway was wondering how I go about turning off traction control - the button doesn't seem to click in/out..

Cheers,

Francis

You can pull the trac fuse in engine bay to permanently disable it, but you will get an orange warning light flash on the dash.

Cheers for the replies...

Strangely enough it wasn't turning off yesterday but it works this morning, also the ! sign on the rev counter lights up a little bit (only faintly) when I turn the TRC off - is that normal... Anyway I'll leave it on for now and perhaps it can come off in a week or two :)

no that's not normal. It means that you need to remove the little board on the top-right of the steering wheel where the "TRC OFF" light is, and resolder the wires to the board. Just melt the solder and they should be okay.

I had that problem early this year. When I turned traction control off the ! sign would come on faintly then would go off after about 5 mins. It steadily got worse ie. brighter and stayed on longer.

It has stopped since I have had a complete set of CW brake pads, my rears were non-existant! So I put the ! sign problem down to a brake fluid level warning as so much fluid was being used to apply the brakes. Why the ! sign seemed to tie in to the TRC OFF I have no idea but it's gone now :) Maybee CW waved his magic wand at the car? who knows!

it's definately the wiring problem. the way it lights up is almost like there's a short going on somewhere. Francis also said he didn't see the TRC OFF light yesterday.. Did you ask Chris if he did any soldering or anything?
