Homer
A bit of Crysis vs MW2 vs Fallout 3 there I just hope the gameplay is as good as the visuals that have been promised
Lee_e
Never played the first one... care to explain what its about ?? trailer didnt really explain anything other than people dying due to an alien invasion.
Homer
Never played the first one... care to explain what its about ?? trailer didnt really explain anything other than people dying due to an alien invasion. Essentially it's a FPS designed for the PC (high end one required to really see how good it is). Absolutely cutting edge graphics when the previous ones were released and some of the best single player gameplay created. It's worth playing the previous games if you want to get into the story line, won't spoil it for you now.
a98pmalcolm
Never played the first one... care to explain what its about ?? trailer didnt really explain anything other than people dying due to an alien invasion. Crysis was and most probly is still to this day one of the most powerful games on the market, when it came out in 2008 no one could play it unless your PC was worth £3000+ lol Basicly you play as an elite soilder. You have a power suit that was 4 main features Armer Strenth Cloak Speed You can only choose one of these abilitys at a time and you by moving curtian ways will reduce the time you have to use that ability So. If u enable your cloak you cant move to much or it will massively reduce the time you have to use it and that goes for the speed ability which will make you run extremo fast Stenth will get reduced if you jump to much you have to be clever how to use the suit to get through the game well. But the stenth abilty mean you can through enemys very far lol But you have to use the cloak to get that close to the ememy but if have used all the suits power in cloak mode you will have no power for the stenth left etc.... But the suit recharges very quickly.. Aslo the rifles are very custom. adding multiple attchments ie. silencers, sniper scopes, laser pointers etc. Basicly its the best 1st person i feel as you are not limited with the free roam and the custom weapons, but if you low on ammo you can pick up and use enemy weapons... and use your attachments on them. Also you could drive enemy hum v's ect.... Homer have u seen there bringing out Fallout Las Vagus!
Guest Luke Hero
I heard that theres gonna be a Crysis for console, but it would have to have downed graphics cause there is no way a PS3 or 360 could handle it, not a chance. They dont even support DX10 for a start, 360 doesnt even have AA so PC games will always look better.
Homer
Homer have u seen there bringing out Fallout Las Vagus! Oh yes and am looking forward to that more than any other game this year (unless it's delayed!). But lets not let this one go off topic as it's about Crysis 2; F3 LV has it's own thread
pistonbroke
its said that the PS3 will be the best format to play it in. Someone you've been talking too is talking out of their ring mate. Noooo way the PS3 is the lead platform. It's a PC game from the ground up ported to consoles using the Cry engine 2. If anything, the 360 version will fair better due to it's close component nature to the PC. It's all speculation however until such time as the game code is final. 360 doesnt even have AA so PC games will always look better. Of course the 360 has AA. It uses unified shader architecture just like the latest PC graphics cards. It's the PS3 that uses the older shader model.
GazzaGSi
Crytek has been discussing developing Crysis 2 on consoles. And they reveal that they have been able to get some better performance from the PS3 system in comparison to the Xbox 360. "We haven't found it more difficult to develop for PS3," he told CVG sister magazine PSM3. "We're lucky in the fact that we've come to the generation slightly later than other people - the ones who were trying to build the first technology and games were surprised at how different the PS3 was. We took our time and worked out the right way to approach it. "At the moment, we're getting slightly more performance from PS3 compared to 360. I'm very confident that products using CryEngine 3 are going to come out as the best looking, or at least in the top three, on every platform." Source And only other bit of info I could find at the mo: Crytek are confident, and have every right to be considering what they produced with Crysis previously. But in terms of Crysis 2 on the PS3, they have claimed that the quality bar will be set at a very high level that other games will struggle to excel. And who are we to doubt them? "With each generation of game titles on PS3, usually every 2 years, the games improve significantly in its quality, mostly showing off in graphics," Glück told Play Magazine. "I think with Crysis 2 you will see the quality bar being set at a very high level that games will struggle to excel. We’re aiming to set a whole new benchmark with that game for all PS3 games." Source Certainly looks impressive. Never got chance to play the first due to PC crumbling trying to process it
pistonbroke
Considering the sources are from an interview with a Playstation magazine, I'll sit on the fence until I see a side by side comparison vid.
DamanC
Whilst I am looking forward to C2 that video looks cack. Its as if the graphics have taken a step back and for some reason the main dude looks differently scaled. I'm hoping this does not turn into some dumbed down piece of console turd like so many have. Until it is confirmed the PC version has its own code and consoles just get a tweaked port for them to play 1+1 then ill get excited about it. pistonbroke
I have read that Daman, that the PC version has been cut to accomodate consoles.
The-Plethora
I just finished Crysis Warhead the other day, amazing graphics and a fun game although the multiplayer is lacking slightly. Hopefully I can pick this up on steam on the PC. Much as I love my 360 it's looking a bit long in the tooth now when it comes to FPS games. EMPEROR
My MOST favorite game... and I can't wait to get my hands on the second one... Hopefully Crysis 3 won't take long after (since it will be a trilogy)... and hopefully there will be other parts (as Warhead)
Attero
I always wanted to play the first one but never got to because I never had a PC powerful enough. I have a PC great enough now but the graphics card I think is still incapable of it. Looks amazing. Not sure the detail in the new one looks half as good as the first, but still looks awesome. Didnt know they were? Thought they covered all, especially CVG. just read sister mag to psm3, learn something new every day Here's a decent vid showing abit of both (consoles/pc) but being such a small size its hard to tell
edge
I can run crysis 1 flat out but i bet when this comes out it will need another 20gig of graphics to be playable
a98pmalcolm
I can run crysis 1 flat out but i bet when this comes out it will need another 20gig of graphics to be playable haha that wouldnt suprise me... The PS3 is now showing its power with heavy rain and final fantasy! So it wouldnt suprise me if the PS3 version was better that Xbox! Especialy as everyone is saying how much better Final Fantacy looks on the PS3 with the side by side test! It will be shame if they downgrade the PC version as games like this iswhat PC gamers wait for! Thats we we spend ££££ to get a blast in the face with graphics! Especialy as everyone is saying how much better Final Fantacy looks on the PS3 with the side by side test! Heavy rain is a PS3 exclusive, so there's no comparison. FF was built from the ground up for the PS3 as the lead platform using the Crystal engine. It was then ported to the 360, because the architecture is so different, the lead platform is usually the better looking game on the respective console. (ff13 on the 360 actually suffers less slow down than the Ps3 version, but is running in a lower resolution) Bayonetta for example, is shocking on PS3, and silky smooth on 360. Ghostbusters is bad on PS3 with missing textures and effects, but fine on 360. Edit just to add - The differences between these games on each console is so small, that at the end of the day, unless they were side by side, you'd never notice the difference. It'd be mad to suggest that a game was substatially inferior on one or the other. Irrespective of what version you buy, you'll be getting the same game experience as everyone else. (but the PC version of Crysis 2 will without doubt, be a much more polished experience than the console version)

GazzaGSi
All very good if you can afford to keep doing it I've seen improvemets in games from release of PS3 to now and havent had to upgrade F. all. If you're happy with that then cool, im happy with what I've got
