Whats this need to diet? Sorry for my ignorance but is it mainly to lose any unwanted body fat? Do you eat more 'normally' at other times then?

im dieting because i want to put on better lean tissue when im at my lowest Bf(bodyfat). So what i'll do is once a year, i'll diet right down to about 7%BF all abs showing Obliques showing, and very vascular.

Once im done its time to eat loads of clean food, my body seems to suck up pretty much anything i give it and grow better. :D

Been reading the thread and everyone seems to have their preferences and things that work for them. I come from a martial arts background but always trained in the gym aswell to maximise my power and potential.

I used to use alot of different proteins and muscletech was probably on of my favourites but still was not worth the outlay in my opinion as I did not feel a 'great' benefit. I am only 5.8" but weigh 12 stone and bench 100kg and feel this is more years of training more than stuff out of a box.

The supplements that I did find that worked wonders for me was good quality aminoacids to help the proteins 'stick', and great quality food with 2 months on 1 off using LA muscle Norateen Heavyweight 2.

and how long would that last, at say twice a week in the gym. Do you have to use the stuff every day even if you only do the 2-3 times a week?

Protein would last about a month to six weeks depending on how much you use (if you are not going mad on it and pacing your in-take so you don't end up shi***g most of it out), Norateen will last a month per pot, and aminos about six weeks.

these price are just MENTAL, id never pay that for any of those.

is all you need, Protein is protein, carbs is carbs. But nothing beats Real solid clean food! and training your nads off. :D

I don't use protein as I feel I get just as good a benefit from the aminos and good quality food. The £60odd quid for the protein is what I know you pay for off the shelf but you can always find online deals etc as you know Geo.

EDIT :)

Still think reflex protein stuff is best value for money per taste for me ;) (supplement protein wise)

I was just answering what price i feel you would need to pay for top quality protein. You only take in about 5% of the protein you ingest anyway. As I said, I only use aminos as using protein without aminos is a complete waste.

I use reflex protein, cheap enough and taste is good. Think i got two 5lb tubs for £52

I dont want to bulk up but just tone up a bit with loss of fat. Ive been going to the gym for about year and bit now. Im 12lb lighter but for sure lost a fair bit chubb on me and muscle weighs more (im 6ft 2 and weigh just over 13stone). Still not low enough in belly area though.

It is all about your diet for sure and mine is shocking :D

I reckon if i sorted that out id look very toned, not built just toned.

Once at Gym i started doing resitance machines and some basic free weights, i became broader very quickly.

I now go 4-5 times a week and do cardio 2 days 15km cycle and 2000metre row and then do weights other days but sill start with 5km cycle and 1000metre row to warm muscles up.

Aminos I think are pretty much all the same as you are buying the same(ish) formulas. Holland and Barrett usually have great deals on them and unless you are working out in the way that you do Geo, I think that using protein powders is over-kill! You may agree that to bulk up you need carbs and good quality whey ?

BCAA are a very good supplement, alot of people tend to forgot to add these into there plan. from me to use them, bulking quickly for muscle Impossible, unless you have Crazy freaky genetics, thats just crave food. Bulking for size EASY, Fat people do it everyday.

You need more than protein/carbs. You also need, fats(again) people forget that essential GOOD fats are needed.

Some great advice there bud..

I use Flaxseed oil to get my good fats, the stuff is great endless list of benefits.

Funny how I find this thread as I wide awake and still buzzing from the two scoops of superpump I took earlier this evening.

Has anyone here tried BSN Nitrix?? I'm on it now, bloody expensive but does the trick. Was thinking if anyone knew of cheaper stuff that's as good??

Thanks

Ok, for you guys who want to do things naturally and put on a lot of muscle then it is simple, you eat shit loads of protein, go to the gym every day, push yourself in the gym to your maximum, you dont have to be there for long, only 45 minutes if you want. The key is the food, you have to eat a lot, between 150-200g of protein a day but you also needs carbs, expect to put on both muscle and fat (you can lose the fat later). The wrong way is to try and stay lean and put on muscle, it is impossible.

The quick solution with money no object is HGH. Take it in moderation, you will gain 10lbs of muscle in 6 months, you will lose 10% of your body fat but the problem is that you will be reliant on it. It occurs naturally in your body therefore is not a steroid. It neither makes you fitter nor gives you more strength, it just increases your size by increasing the number of cells and makes you leaner by releasing chemicals that cause your adipose tissue to be used as your primary energy source. It must be taken in moderation. As we get older our natural levels of HGH drop off because for some reason our Pituitary gland stops making as much as when we were 18-20, thus by taking the synthetic injections you bring it back to the normal levels.

If you want to increase your bodies HGH levels then there are natural ways. We only produce HGH when we are in deep sleep, anaerobic training or eating certain foods. Google it and you will see.

Hmm I've always stayed natural, but its always tempting when you see the others grow so huge in no time at all!!

me too, i dont touch anything because I play football and i always wanted to be strong but lean and everything natural. I changed my physique massively but it took 3 years. People I knew were doing it in 6 months.
