gavin.starr
Does any one own one or the other what are the pros and cons of each etc... There is a manual is200 for sale just around the corner from me and was thinking of getting it, but i didnt know weather parts for a lexus or a toyota are going to be the same seeing as they are the same car? ish apart from one being tuned. I dont want to buy a car that has done 70k miles to find that 3 months down the line that it needs a new clutch etc... Any comments accepted. edge
RWD so a clutch will be easy to do. personally i would opt for a uk car as you get alot newer car for the same price paid on an altezza but the IS200 are slow and the altz has a beams lump in with a bit more poke. Buy a uk one and pop an 3.0 2jz n/a in it, like the IS300 have
Suprab1
The altezza has the beams 220 bhp engine & the is200 has about 150 bhp straight 6.
gavin.starr
So your recomendation is to get the uk is200 and drop a is300 engine into it. How much is that likley to cost as im not really made of money at the moment, also is it an easy process. Gav

So not alot of £ really unless you pay someone to do it for you. Or dive both and see what you like. The IS200 is a nice place to be just plodding about. jimwire
I used to have a beams altezza. Really liked it. See my garage for pics. I would get the altezza over an is200.

SamuraiFlash
How difficult is it to install a 2JZ GTE engine from an Aristo and a TT Autbox into an IS200/IS300?
Abz
heres my altezza dude:- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=214544 Ah, I remember this thread! Adnan's car sounded awesome I'd pick a Altezza over the IS200, though the IS200 would be easier to sell when it comes to the time.
SamuraiFlash
I like the look of them, and I am in need of a family car. Woukd be great if it was possible to do a TT lump and autobox conversion on one.
