Steviekid
I got my renewal through from Adrian Flux a couple of weeks ago - £420, not too bad but I wanted to add my gf on as a named driver so they came up to £450. I phoned Sky (I've had a policy there until a year ago) and went through all the details listing all the modification honestly, the vast majority of which are the same as a year ago. They quoted £420 so I took the policy out. I got the paperwork through the other day and there were loads of mistakes on the modifications list, things listed I've never had, other stuff missed - my SAFC had turned into larger fuel injectors!! I corrected the mistakes and sent it back. I've just had a letter through saying that because of the "extra" modifications they want another £120!! Think I'll be back with Adrian Flux after all. Abz
Have you tried calling them to discuss? Most if not all insurance companies will try charging extra for more risk.
Steviekid
Most if not all insurance companies will try charging extra for more risk. I appreciate that, it's the fact that every modification I ticked on the sheet I had told them about over the phone when I got the quote. I'll give them a phone later on, I'll need to cancel the policy and get a refund anyway (it doesn't kick in till the 24th).

It is a shame really Stevie as normally their service is good, might be worth sending SkyInsurance a PM on here (Ollie). Hope they can sort it out to save you all the hassle. The-Plethora
I recently added the mods and they sent me the modification form without boost controller checked which I specified on the phone so ticked it and sent it back. Expecting to get a call back soon.
Martin J
I took out a policy recently with Sky for mine, and yeh there were a few ticks on the modification report missing (FMIC, boost gauge, etc). I ticked them and sent it back, got my cover yesterday with no extra charges. Guess the stuff they'd missed off mine they either had a record of or none of the items moved the cover into the next level of pricings... Cheeky b*stards Loads of mistakes suggests that they just try it on to get the business and therefore the comission, one mistake or so would be more believable. The questions are clearly asked over the phone and no doubt you clearly answered them, maybe they should listen to the recording of the call (if they have one) and sack the person involved if it bears bugger all resemblance to the final policy
Gaz6002
Maybe If you'd e-mailed them a list of mods rather than done it over the phone it wouldn't have happened. That's what I did. Better to call them and discuss it rather than put a thread up moaning about them IMO.
MARTIN R
I never moved from Sky in all the years I had the Supra. I would give them a call before you move. I am sure the insurer you are considering have had there fair share of negative feedback;) Ps on a completely un related topic a big thanks to all at the vets. A difficult time but real compassionate service
Safely Insured
Guys, I am looking into this one. It is a simple one, if modifications were not given to us on the phone and were ticked on the modification report form (after the policy inception) then they may well be an additional premium due. If the modifications were given to us on the phone, we can track back via the call recording and see what was said. Without listening to the call (which I have not been able to do yet as I only just have the customer's details) it is best not to comment any further or draw your own conclusions. Kind regards Ollie Sky Insurance

Safely Insured
Hi all, I think Steve is going to clarify but I wanted to put this to bed before I go home for the weekend at 5pm. Steve had incorrectly ticked a box on the modification report form stating ECU upgrade. There is no ECU upgrade on the car (therefore wouldn't have been mentioned at quote stage). My team have rightly picked up on this and we have written to him stating there is an additional premium due. This has almost been resolved and there will be no increase in premium. @ Paul above I am not having a go at you but may I just say that is a good example of why you shouldn't draw conclusions based on what someone has written on a car club forum, there are two sides to every story etc Have a good weekend guys, nice weather for enjoying your Supras, I'll most definitely be out in my MR2 Turbo. Safely Insured
And apologies, is it a fair request for this thread to be renamed? Unfortunately again, people will glance at the topic title and draw their own conclusion.
Steviekid
As Ollie says above really. I'd like to clarify that this issue arose due to the only new modification this year - an Apexi SAFC that I fitted to fix an idle issue. I told Sky about this on the phone (calling it a piggy-back fuel controller), however it had been listed as larger injectors on the paperwork I subsequently received from Sky. I crossed this out and ticked the box which I though resembled it most closely which was "ECU remap" (not ECU upgrade). Sky's system must class this as a new standalone ecu and remap and hike the price up. Big thanks to Ollie for sorting this out and apologies for ranting on here before contacting him (I was having a crappy day yesterday). If one of the mods can change the thread title or delete it entirely that'd be great. Steve

TBH though there still seemed to be a problem with the description of mods on your system that led to this, and I hope we've all learnt from this including myself and Sky
