barneybrendan
means it has been in an accident and has been repaired and checked out by the vehicle inspecterate agency.you need to find out what catagory it was c,d.it will effect the value of the car as it stays on the log book so everybody knows it has been a right off.check the site in the link. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/AdviceOnBuyingAndSellingAVehicle/DG_4022107
Homer
A strange thing to state in an add, it will normally mean it's been written off by an insurance company (i.e. beyond economical repair, but that doesn't mean it's not worthwhile)... Do you have a link to the Pistonheads advert? There's a reasonable chance it will be know here.
seba
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1640700.htm This is the car. The advert has been renewed because yesterday it said something about c or d don't remember. And this "accident" will be reported where? On the MOT paper? Homer
and what exactly is a hpi check ? http://www.hpicheck.com/ It's a basic check on the cars history, but you do need to pay for it. It's by no means infallible, but is a basic check that near anyone buying a car of any value in the UK does. It will only record the cars history since it was imported, not before. However can be easily worked around by dodgy sellers. Well worth the money if you are serious about the car. If it's an import then don't forget to bimta check it too.
