Kammy
Hi, I drove my car for the first time at night and noticed that the hazard button does not light up. Is this a simple bulb switch or am I better off replacing the whole button? If the bulb, can anybody please advise which type and is it dealer only? I have a Jspec NA if needed. Thanks Kam
devan
Yeah its a bulb, not sure exactly what sort though. Just take the piece of dash off which hold the button cluster bit in, and the bulb holder has a cross on it, just get a screwdriver on that and the bulb and holder will come out. izzzzythedog
doesnt it rely on the dash lights to show its been pushed ?

Missile
My hazard button does not even stay in when pressed. Just pops out again. Oh and it does not light up either. Maybe different models have different buttons?
devan
yeah... neeer neeer Saying that, when i bought the car, it had no bulb in the holder, so i just bought one and put it in. Maybe for some strange reason Toyota made the bulb holder, but didnt put the bulbs in lol.
Animal
My hazard button does not even stay in when pressed. Just pops out again. You're not pressing the ciggy lighter are you?
Kammy
Nice one mate, I thought thats what they're supposed to do and at least they did on my previous cars. I'll have to take it apart when I get the car back and see how it goes. Thanks, Kam Well my hazard button illuminates when the lights are on... and then flashes with the indicators when the button is pressed. jackso11
what colour is your button? Mine is black with no bulb
Kammy
same, the button is black with a red triangle, as far as i'm aware the triangle at least should light if not the whole button. My cars back in the body shop but when I get it back i'll check in detail.
Homer
Just had a look at a spare hazard curcuit board and button, there's no light blub in it, nor anywhere for one to be fitted or wired in.
Kammy
if thats the case then definately strange as i seriously thought it should be lit.
devan
Toyota must, for some strange reason, have different Hazard switches, because mine definately does have a bulb, and it definately lights up lol.
devan
I presume this is what we are talking about, just to clear it up lol. Here is the bulb holder from the top of the hazard button unit (green): The bulb connections/holder from the top: And the bulb, which is built into the holder, It has a green base and is quite small as you can see from the pic: Hope this helps you find the right bulb you need, and also clear up if Toyota did actually change their hazard swtich sometime during production of the Supraaa. Kammy
Thats definately what i'm talking about and hopefully so are the others. It's very strange though as in all my other cars, the triangle at least lights up when you put the lights. I just hadn't noticed as not done much driving at all in the supra never mind in the dark. Anyway i'll check mine out hopefully on the weekend to make sure it is a unit that has the bulb in it and then will look into replacing the bulb. I hope it is and does. Although I know where the hazard switch is, I still had to have a look for it in the dark as it did not stand out like it should have. Thanks Peeps Kam

Homer
Good stuff, I'm intriged now Going to check my one tomorrow as I never spotted the bulb (and none of the supra's I've checked it on have had the light flash!)
devan
The only thing different to what i mentioned in my previous post is, the hazard swtich DOES light up with the lights on, however, it doesnt flash with the indicators (i was sure that it did, but tried it last night, and i doesnt, but its no biggy).
