that why we are uprating all internals to cope with more power.. i dont have to run at 900 but we are building to take 1000bhp.

i will be happy at 800..

its getting all top stuff fitted am confident it will be fine.

and japan have a r35 now with getrag 6 speed box :):)

Ooooo when was the manual released?! going to have to look into that:D

go for the r35 if it fecks up, we can build you a 800-900 bhp for still way less than the cost of a new 997t..

and it will trounce any porsche so for the money £ for £ thats my winner to get the porsche to that level its going to cost way more..

Ooh I dunno bud, reliability costs money:) I'm not particularly after a car that spends its life being worked on all time. It'll be my only transport.

The Blitz car is running a Holinger sequential mate. Mega ££££.

Doesn't the R35 have a rear mounted transaxle? You would be looking at replacing it with something like Hewland and reworking all the controls back to manual if Nissan don't do uprated gearbox internals and ecu software changes. Looks a TOTAL nightmare. Light and simple rules :) I am pretty happy working on some really complex race engines, and chassis set ups but that thing of yours would give me the willies if it was my money being spent on developing something so complex and full of electrickery. You are a brave man :)

It does - for better weight distribution.

Thats A lot of car for the money.

I had the pleasure of working on the first few official import Vipers. Rudimentary sledge hammer is the politest way to sum them up.

I had the option in January to buy one of the following:

Nissan R35 - new

Porsche 997 C4S - used

Lamborghini Gallardo - used

Aston Martin V8 Vantage - used

I drove them all, investigated resale vs repairs/servicing/reliability etc, and bought the Porker. I'm extremely happy with it (although I need more power so the 997TT would have been a better choice). I'll look to get a 997 TT next year.

i wouldn't want a porshe. too common and driven by posing monkey men...:)

it would be GTR all day long for me. at the end of the day i'm a big skyline GTR fan and always will be. and at least there new models change. instead of looking the same each time they upgrade.

weather they were built to take on the 911 or not. its not the way i look at it. its a different type of car to me. and its alot cheaper. when i see a porshe driving down the road. it dosen't attract me at all. but when i see a GTR and even the older ones. it puts a big smile on my face.

a GTR will pee over most cars these days. and i don't see why they ain't reliable. if you mess around with any car it becomes unreliable. unless your gonna throw mega cash at it to get it done right? but then you have to maintain it anyway

but like alot have said. an R8 over a porshe anyday.

sorry probo a silly reply. only my opinion. i can't afford any of them cars mentioned.

i love my supra outside. far more supierior than my mk5 rs2000. but my escort means more to me that any other car. and most importantly it puts a smile on my face when i drive it. and also even tho its a slow car. its still fun to drive and gets the looks.

anyway. have you bought a porshe yet? as this thread is getting old???

He's already got one, and FWIW, the R8 is well out of the price range this thread is talking about.

BTW, if you think the sun shines out of Nismo's arse, why have you got a Supra? :)

didn't know if he was buying new or secondhand.

because out of all the jap cars, supras and skylines are my favourite cars. i wouldn't have anyother jap car as these are the only ones that apeal to me.

some people grew up dreaming of lambos and ferraris.

i grew up dreaming of skylines and supras.

but TBH. i'm a ford man, grew up with fords all my life. had no end of RS's and cabriolets. and i got stuck in the ford bug ways. i could of had a very very nice GTR by now. not r35, but 32, 33 or even 34. and i could of even had a very nice TT supra.

i got a supra now, as i found it stood for ages. i got it cheap and its manual. if it was auto i wouldn't have it;)

oh and what does FWIW mean??
