caseys
I'd agree with gaz, driven a 350 and the chassis is verr nice but engine was a bit tepid. New jags and mercs are too heavy could buy a 330 and out a 2jz in? 530 would be too like a barge. Does it have to already be rwd or you not worried about modding a fwd->rwd? dr_jekyll
I think mid engined cars with an inline 6 is a no no....so a testarossa is out. why is that? pleanty of mid engined cars fit a v12 in witch is the same in lenth so i dont think that should be a problem
Guest argy911
Just dreaming here. Bored and got man-flu, started thinking i fancy a car a lot newer but with with my supra engine installed. 1000bhp 2JZ Vantage would be nice but they are still to expensive to chop up, get one cheap with a blown up engine would be nice. Anything else take your fancy to fit a 2jz in? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=108001&stc=1&d=1270995552 Not sure about what engine I would fit ,but I'd want one of those auto gear box's fitted to the new 2010 porche 911 turbo .Damn those gear changes are fast. pezzler
one of these please...
Jake
e46 M3. They're great cars but the low torque, hih revving NA motor isn't my cup of tea compared to a single turbo Supra. With a 2JZ it would be an awesome car. You could probably keep the stock m3 6sp Getrag gearbox too. Few 2jz S2000's about, bit of a tarts car though. ... and 350Zs aren't? Angarak
Jamie, you could email Tim Lewis at http://www.pugsleyandlewis.co.uk. He's an Aston specialist who may know of any possible leads on db9's with blown engines. I've done some body panels for him in the past for an Alfa Sud sprint he races (a beast of a car!). Willson
A nice newish merc or bimmer? I would go for an SL but it sounds like convertibles are out, so maybe a CLK. BMW wise, a 6 series or 3 series coupe? Or just about any bmw really. I reckon there are loads of options from both Mercedes and BMW. Miguel
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/696106.htm That would be hilarious to see a 2jz in that.
Chris Wilson
http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z11877/BMW-30-CS.aspx If you can find one that's not as rotten as an old pear it would make a classy and cool machine, IMO.
Miguel
^ good call for a uber cool retro project. Never even thought of that.
Miguel
e46 M3. They're great cars but the low torque, hih revving NA motor isn't my cup of tea compared to a single turbo Supra. A HPF turbo kit would soon sort that
Bobbeh
What gear box would you put in the Aston Jamie if you were planning a high power Supra engine?
JamieP
What gear box would you put in the Aston Jamie if you were planning a high power Supra engine? V160 mate, cut and shut the prop, hope the diff takes the power.
RobD
I know where there is a R35 GTR with a blown engine!
Guigsy
why is that? pleanty of mid engined cars fit a v12 in witch is the same in lenth so i dont think that should be a problem Think about it. how are you going to reach the geer leaver? there will be an engine between you and it Turn the engine and box arround? then its all going to be backwards. And then its going to have to be front wheel drive... And you will have 6 reverse and 1 forward gears I think jamie is looking for a relatively straitforward front engine, rear drive layout. tbourner
Caterham? The weight might lift the back wheels off the ground though. How about a people carrier?
DaveR
Something a bit "out there," like a Toyota Carina-E with Celica GT4 running gear would be pretty cool. That would be a real sleeper! Maybe even rear- / mid-engined.
tbourner
He wants a NEWER car, don't you people listen!!
