Purity14
Whilst its sunny again I thought id go back to removing my crank pulley that wont actually come off, see previous thread by me. So - Has someone got a picture of the crank pulley after its been removed, or a picture of the engine without the pulley installed.. I need them because of the different "methods" i might have to use to get this POS off my car... JODY T
Just get a puller on it, If you have too, drill and tap two holes anwhere so you can screw the puller on. then tighten centre nut and itll pull it off easily.. Or you could keep 'thinking' about it and never get it off.. This should take an Hour at least if you have to redrill a hole etc. OR Use one of those claw pullers and Im sure you can get the hooks in behind the pulley and get it off that way. SUPRALOOPY
Three point claw puller will get it off just don't buy a chocolate one or it will bend.
Chris Wilson
Not wanting to worry you old son, but in the first photo the new belt id OVER the guide peg on the LH side of the photo, it should have the guide peg on the outside of the belt to stop it flapping if it becomes slack due to sudden torque reversal and rubbing the cover. I hope you haven't tried starting it!!!!!!!
Rajinder
Well spotted Chris, but relax my friend that belt was just put on to try the pulleys and the size. My mechanical Guru would have turned in his grave if I had started the car.:)
