jon5698
Well everything has been going well with the car, managed to get it up to BPU ready for ryan to fit my AEM fic next month, when just as i got home i heard a loud bang. Didn't know what it was and after looking round the car heard a hissing noise from the engine bay. I lifted up the bonnet and seen a nice big split in the front of the radiator I am going to go for an upgraded koyo or fluidyne one, can anyone recommend the best place to get one from? i have done a search but all the posts are all from 2008 etc. Sorry for the picture quality, it is from my phone. jon5698
Looked on pauls website and they are about £
Scott
Hmm, I would have a look into the cause. Most radiators fail due to corrosion etc, not exploding due to pressure. Your expansion tank should be a release for the pressure. What rating rad cap do you have?
jon5698
Just had a look and it is a 0.9 bar one.
Gambit
Mine did exactly the same, split central on the plastic. It's getting on a bit, it happens.
edge
A stock new toyota one will be more than enough. I had one of them ebay £150 52mm ali rads from china or somewhere and that did have an improvement on my GT4 but the rad caps supplied was pants and they are not the best fit. For bpu OEM is more than good enough unless you want some bling
jon5698
I will be going single eventually, so i might as well get an uprated one now, and only pay once Just sent Dusty a pm so i will see what he says.
Ian Ian
thats a common fault where the rad fails over time with the heating up and cooling down the plastic becomes brittle and cracks .........but mine was 15 years old when it went so cant complain Cheers -Ian-
Scott
Damn right you can complain? 15 years??? Back in my day they were made from hardened kryptonite and if they didn't last at least 100 years they got sent back under warranty. This country has gone soft, I'll tell you. Have you seen the size of a pack of bloody quarterbacks now? It's a disgrace.

Nic
A bit more than the Fluidyne, but far better quality and fit IMO is the Power Enterprise Double Row Radiator. http://power-enterprise.co.jp/english/radiator/radiator.htm http://power-enterprise.co.jp/english/radiator/img/radiator.jpg
Luxluc
I went for a PWR rad ... they are priced the same as the Fluidyne @ MVP, but thicker.
jon5698
I was looking at those ones Nic but they are £500 without the shipping and import tax, i also had a look at the PWR one as well, but on their website it says it is not a direct fit and requires some modifying to get it to fit. jon5698
Well thanks to Captain Chaos my supe is now back on the road, and has a shiny Fluidyne radiator and DO Luck hoses The old radiator was in such a bad state, that when you touched the cores they just crumbled. Guigsy
good luck, my fluidine lasted 3 years or so before it did the same as your stock one that lasted probably 10+ years Ive put a stock one back in mine.
jon5698
Thanks for that mate lol
Guigsy
Sorry dude. Its one of those issues people seem to argue about. The copper stock ones that (i think) have less fins and are cheeper. or The ally ones that dont conduct heat as well as copper and have more fins but are twice the price. After my ally one blew in prety much the same way (along the top). It was shiny. but not double the price shiny! I pm'd a few people on here i trust that know what they are talking about and didnt just want to sell me a shiny "uprated" item and went for stock. But like i say... someone will probably come and say thats all a load of balls
