Sheefa Posted April 9, 2010 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Hi all In just over a week I am off with a couple of mates on a 4 day Car Rally looking to cross the boundaries of Europe in what can only be described as a 28 year old classic tin can.....with the luxury optional extra 'wheels'. This is all in aid of raising money for a fantastic charity, the CLIC (Cancer and Leukemia in Childhood) Sergant thechildren'scancer charity trust. Our chariot is a beautiful (!) 1982 Morris Ital as you can see in the photos, it could make for an interesting journey no doubt! Most people are no doubt going to be sensible and choose something reliable and steadfast, we however believe in the precision engineering of the Ital. Just because it was voted 14th most ugliest car in the world and sounds like a bag of nails at the best of times, this is truly the challenge to prove that she has balls of steel! The route covers no more than 3,000 miles (unless we get lost), there are checkpoints each day that we have to visit and complete and have proof of visiting. A photograph is the standard method, but a piece of our broken car will suffice! 100 cars will be competing in the event and we all hope to make an awful lot of money for the brilliant children's cancer support charity Clic Sergant. This is all in the spirit of charity and we would be most grateful if you could please support us by making a donation and wish us well on our journey, lets hope we make it to the ferry port first of all!
