cheap car advice, golf gti mk3

Not a bad motor tbh. Its the heaviest of the GTI's though so 35mpg might be at the top end of achievable if you drive it 'normally'. Generally quite reliable as with most VW's and if looked after properly shouls see well over 100,00 miles no trouble.

They're alright. Some water hoses are a bit prone but they're cheap to replace. Suspension bushes and rear shocks go quite a bit, but otherwise my mk3 never broke down once in it's 8 years of ownership and it went to the scrappage scheme with 166k on the clock
