johnhay83
whilst trying to fix my stereo in, when i went to connect up the arial i grabbed the first plug that looked rite and put it in, as soon as i did i realised that it didn't fit but along with this as soon as it went in to the back of the stero the speakers crackled loudly and i pulled it straight out. the plug is smaller than the arial plug. but now everything is playing up. the power steering has gone really heavy. the slip cont. light keeps flashing at me, the ABS light is on and my stereo isn't working! i've checked the voltage on the ignition cables and they are showing about 7V rather than 12V. any help i'm completely thrown on this one!!! Supra ST Myster
state the obvious and ask if you have checked the fuses in the engine bay or the drivers footwell?
johnhay83
yeah all of the fuses seem fine, there is 12V coming out of the fuses. i wasn't sure if i had knackered a relay. but i don't know how to check them
merckx
There's supposed to be a smaller coaxial cable down there somewhere that goes to the aerial in the rear screen(not normally used), cannot think of any other ones that you could mistake for the normal aerial. Have you plugged everything back together again, cannot remember which one it is, but if you don't connect one of the multiplugs then your power steering won't work! Jake
Now you've got the steering working reset your ECU by disconnecting the battery's earth lead for a minute. Then reconnect and see if the ABS/Trac faults go away.
