Chris Wilson
Unique Bonner 5.8 litre race V6. All ali, 4 valve heads, 302 degree cams, Lucas EFI. 610 engine dyno BHP and 450 ft lbs torque (!!). Serious engine still in production and development. Fabulous sound, serious grunt, needs a stout gearbox and diff! £50,000 new, still available to order. Comes complete with beautiful headers and 4 bid silencers, a proper dry sump set up with tank on dash 20 (!!) lines. Was run in the ADA 02 Group C car to good effect. Recent refresh, all parts available. Would suit big sports GT, wild single seater or power a steel bodied saloon. Each cylinder is over 1 litre, it's hard to describe the noise, but it sets car alarms off and annoys neighbours. Can be twin T04 turbo charged, where it gives an honest and reliable 1100 BHP. Can be marinised. Looking for 12K complete. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The BONNER V6 5.8 litre engine has been designed specifically as a high performance compact lightweight competition engine, with particular emphasis on ruggedness and simplicity. The cylinder block is cast as an open chamber and then the steel liners are screwed in to make them a structural member. The cylinder head features a dry gas-face with 8 studs per cylinder to eliminate any chance of gasket failure. The head to block interface is sealed by Wills rings. The cam bearings and tappet carriers are cast into the head for simplicity. The 3-plane crankshaft is fully counterbalanced, machined from the solid with large journals which are heavily drilled for lightness. The forged connecting rods and forged pistons are extremely robust, yet compact and light for their size. The steel main bearing caps are each retained by 4 studs, which are buried deep in the crankcase. The timing gears are located adjacent to the flywheel to minimise torsional vibrations, and the intermediate gearwheels in the train are used to drive the water pump, distributor, alternator, triple gang oil pump. The entire engine is stressed, component by component, for a maximum horsepower up to 1100 and a maximum speed up to 8000 rpm. Chris Wilson
Pics of its removal from its March chassis yesterday, it's now here with me at home. The noise this thing makes is indescribable, and quite spine chilling http://www.chriswilson.tv/bonner2/bonner2.html
