thanks for the input guys, will tell the garage your views also.

 

(they are a good garage, but nice to give them more options from the start)

 

 

i was thinking could be the LSD or somehting also, possibly giving more power to one side? hence the crabbing/diagonal sorta feeling.

 

 

Tschuchia says it about the amuse supra when testing it, causes an "in lift"

(dont know if thats the same)

 

 

when its on the ramps will check the bushes etc etc, suspension parts

My money is on several components being past their best, and the geo being miles out.

 

 

will the garage be able to tell visually which are broken/gone?

 

or isit a case of buying all new suspension/arms/bushes etc til the problems gone?

Yes they will be able to check for play in the joints, although if some joints are worn then the rest will be in a similar condition.

 

Not a cheap job to overhaul the suspension, but you'll be shocked at just what a difference to the handling, ride and traction it makes. Best money I ever spent on my Supra was to completely overhaul the suspension.

The Supra should be rock steady at ANY speed you can get it up to.

 

 

yea i know. especially this one, Front & Rear struts, low as hell,

 

heres a pic of the body brace & suspension, (just so everyone can relate to the thread a bit :)

As Chief has said, with issues like this it's best to get it to a specialist garage that knows these cars, or to a geometry specialist (Geometry NOT tracking, they are worlds apart!!). Either will pick up easily on faulty/worn components or realise it's a simple geometry issue.

think ive found out what the prob was.

 

car was making a funny noise last few days, light sorta clunky & sqeeky noise.

 

it was going sideways much too easy round roundabouts yest,

 

stopped and looked at the rear wheel, it was still up/not flat, but off the rim!!!

also looks like been rubbing the arch? or maybe old mark.

whats the narrowest tire you should be running on a 9.5J wheel? im sure the tire is 265 off top my head but still looks a little stretched?

 

or perhaps tire had been repaired and had a bulge init or something which casued it to come off the rim?

Did you check your tyre pressures before this happend as suggested by several members ?

 

If not i suggest you do all 4 and check the wheel nuts while your at it ! oh and get that tyre checked by a tyre shop incase its scrap

 

A 265 wide tyre is fine to fit onto a 9" rim up to a 10" rim

yea checked the nuts etc, and yea its a 45 profile,

 

obvious i havent been driving it when the wheel was off the rim!

 

something odd tho which led it to do that.

 

 

wheel is off to garage tomo for inspection, and a new tire....

It must have either been running really low on air to move on the rim like that or the tyre has not been fitted correctly, either way very dangerous. Get the tyre beading checked it's probably damaged now and will need replacing.
