RobD
I got a 3Gs on friday but I can't put my own music as my text message! How can I do this ( If it allows it) as i've got a really good text message tone that I don't want to loose! I've downloaded a tone from itunes for my call tone but its just showing the phones own tones in the text tones section!

RobD
I think my mate at work has a his own tone as a message tone but I can't be 100% sure, I can't ask him at the moment either as he's in hospital!
Ric
you cant set personalised msg tones only ring tones, you will need to jailbreak it if you want to do that
cheekymonkey
Really? That seems restrictive, even for Apple!
RobD
Jailbreak voids warranty though doesn't it?

Kopite
Just looked into this again and if you follow this guide below, it works fine Just so you know, to convert to aiff using itunes, you can change it through "preferences-->import settings". Shows you in the vid though
