dani_r
Just saw this on the Lexus Forum when looking for LS400 calipers! How did they get them so shiney!?

dani_r
Loads of polish I guess. Would they actually stay that way though? Can calipers be chromed? Or is there a heat issue there?
sams
Chrome plating, or chrome painted, id hazard a guess there painted
SupraHuman
I recon brake dust would soon cover them, if you want them to look like that all the time you'll have to clean them once a week.
Guigsy
they would never stay like that unless you didnt drive the car.
Chris Wilson
Could be polished, could be cerrachromed, but what the hell is the point? He spends all that time or money getting calipers polished then fits them to some `orrible pseudo "drilled" discs, just to compound things Having said that, doesn't someone on here polish the inside of the exhaust tip on their car? suprasurrey
Look closely at the back of the caliper near where the pins sit. It seems to be a pressed metal cover rather than a chrome plated or polished caliper. I`m sure I`ve seen something similar on Ebay recently:d

To be fair you don't know the situation of the guy fitting the brakes, he may not have the money to go splashing on a full set of Brembos. If we told you he had just upgraded them from a set of knackered j-specs I bet you wouldn't be so condescending, not saying owt apart from not everyone puts "race spec" parts on their cars
garethr
They were polished, and they were in California. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/suspension-and-brakes/160739-brake-upgrades.html
