I think that she put herself into a situation where there was a good chance she was going to get a battering. She was gambling on the fact that he wouldn't rise to it and that he'd back down, but unfortunately the gamble didn't pay off.

 

In the eyes of the law, was she actually doing anything wrong? I don't know if taking part in a protest and not doing what the police tells you to do is actually against the law?

 

Either way she's kind of won as it helped to increase the level of animosity the general public have of the police as, despite what this ruling says, the feeling was she was treated heavy handedly. +1 to the anarchists.

I have no animosity towards the police and I know of several people who have respect for the law. To me she appeared to be part of a baying mob hell bent on anarcy rather than protesting As far as I could see she got what she deserved, at least it wasn't a baton across the head.

 

Interesting as well she did not make an appearance at the hearing!
