Animal
If there is a god, which I seriously doubt, then it's about time he paid another visit and dragged all the depraved, child molesting, hypocritical, snivelling morons that run his deseased cult back to the hell they deserve. Fuck the catholic church, I despise it.
Septic
Yes but we can 'see' what shape the planet is. If i can see, feel, smell, and hear something why would i question its existence? I only doubt god as i have no proof that hes real, This debate will never end as people have there own views and stick by them no matter what other may say. We could go back and forth until the end of time and still be no closer to an answer, Septic, i hope my views have not upset you as at the end of the day they are only MY views, i dont wish to smash peoples hopes or imply that im right and your wrong etc. Can you feel, smell and hear your brain? Don't worry mate, you haven't upset me. As for smashing my hopes lol- my faith in God isn't based on just hope that he exists. Trust me- it would be easier for me to be an atheist People get this impression that its just hope- that we're hoping GOd exists and we'll all go to heaven etc. There is a lot of research to be done if that is what you believe. Tony I just wanted to make it clear that being intelligent and believing in God is not a contradiction. We can all agree Einstein was intelligent can't we? Albert Einstein, "Science, Philosophy and Religion: a Symposium", 1941 US (German-born) physicist (1879 - 1955): Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind. Thorin
Its also possible to employ logic. Is it impossible to disprove faith? Has faith already been disproved? Wouldn't it be easy if a certain faith had a test to prove whether it was true or not? Religious people generally have flawed logic circuits Faith is a tangible thing, I put faith in a lot of things. Has God been categorically disproved? No. Has God been categorically proven? No. Can anything be categorically proven? No. Is there a spoon? Maybe. Scoboblio
Albert Einstein, "Science, Philosophy and Religion: a Symposium", 1941 US (German-born) physicist (1879 - 1955): It's interesting that you quote Einstein, the man who after stating that he didn't believe in a 'personal God' received numerous threats and nasty letters from Churches all over the world. Really? From Churches? That's weird considering he was Jewish from birth. Regardless of his model of a personal God his above quote still stands. And he still believed in God even if it was the differing Spinoza's God model. Interestingly, his belief in the above model was rooted in 'belief' and preference as opposed to any direct linkage to his works.

Yup, not weird though, just very spiteful, along the lines of 'go back to where you came from, who do you think you are' etc. There are intelligent people who believe in God, probably Stephen Hawking included if 'God created the integers' is anything to go by. Which makes me wonder why so many of the arguments (like the videos in this thread) are just laughably stupid.
Septic
Which makes me wonder why so many of the arguments (like the videos in this thread) are just laughably stupid. Good point. No idea why but a lack of knowledge is clearly one factor that explains the above video. Its the same deficit of real understanding of faith that gives rise to terrorists or others trying to legitimise their actions by citing God as their excuse for doing such acts. AndrewOW
kiwitrousers By this rationale we must conclude that God also designed the human anus and rectum to accomodate the penis. It is rather a good fit after all. Nuff said

Atheism suffers from the same problem I think - unfortunately ignorance is everywhere! That came across as very big headed of me.... I'd just like to add that I'm a t**t..... but I know I'm a t**t so it's ok

I'm agnostic, but I also believe that we may all be just a product of Branner's imagination. Solipsism may be the answer.
Septic
Hehe I agree. Not on you being a t**t but widespread ignorance. Well at least there is some hope- I mean RATM did come No.1 on the Xmas charts last year.

Dave
Since you made a statement of 'fact', why don't you prove to us (with actual evidence) that he doesn't exist? Stating something (anything) doesn't exist until its proven it exists seems a silly approach to me since we are limited by what we know at the time. There are loads of things that we thought didn't exist but appeared to do so (we 'found' america etc). I prefer to say I don't know but I am happy to consider both arguments. The video is good ive just asked him to turn my n/a into a fire breathing single let you know what happens
