MONKEYmark
hi just got back from Elvington scooby shoot out. on way there was taking a steady drive up the a64 dual carrigeway and looked over on opposite side or road and there was 2 blokes walking opposite way completly bollock naked lol 1 bloke was covering his bits with a black rag and other bloke was just walking as if nothing the matter. could not belive it then a bit further up road seen a cop car pull onto dual carrige way and shoot up road to next tuening and was on his way back to them blokes. it was about 930am. the crd supra did not turn up to race only there scooby. tim brought his top secret skyline and made 1 run. on time sheet it did a 15+ second run. his other r34 did a low 11 second run. kev was there in the envy car and beat his previous time. there was a couple of drag bikes one ran 8.4 and other ran in 9`s the 8 second bike made other one look slow. seen a few supras in car park along with a porker gt2 and a big ferrari special edition with sort of white viper stripe on bonnet, back end had some sort of carbon fiber effect between lights. the scoobys seemed a bit boring. was some funny cars racing there too. a couple of new volvos, one of them was a huge estate looked so smooth going up drag strip. there was also a huge f150 lightning pickup truck. was a bit dissapointed with day and got me thinking if all this car stuff is worth all the expense and hasstles. starting to think there are other things mean more than cars. feel a bit bored of it all at moment. met a few people we know eyefi and jane my mate who has just gone from cossies to a scooby. michael
Sorry I missed you and Mr Eyefi Mark, I kept getting caught up with people I hadn't seen for ages and didn't stumble across you. Was a fairly boring day, £10 doesn't get you much up there these days and once you've seen one Subaru run you've seen them all - I only really went to see the CRD Supra and the quick Skyline I saw the Ferrari you mention pulling in just as I left, 360 Challenge Stradale I think it was. Loads of police around on the way home.
Kopite
those bikes were insane weren't they!! Was hopin the Ferrari would have a go up the strip too, looked very fast just sittin there in the car park! think Kev would of been very happy with his times, should get a report of Gaz sometime tonight hopefully! the scoobies were pretty boring (except for the CRD one which was a bit different ) loved the look of the GTR Nur though, still not worth the money! I know what you mean.. its a sign that you're going to too many Drag days I think some track action would perk you up a bit.
Kopite
i'm more of a fan of tracks rather than drag strips, was my first time at a drag day today though. don't think i'd enjoy runnin on a drag strip that much but wanna do one at some point just so i know how quick i could be in my slow arse UK

eyefi
my face is really red and hurts, my nose especially, then underneath (where my nostrils are) it's standard white. good to see the usual suspects kev's terminals where great, just a bit more practice with the launch. the car seems more than capable now
Kopite
kev's terminals where great, just a bit more practice with the launch. the car seems more than capable now terminals were the quickest on the day apparently! he was runnin a new sequential shifter and it was a bit sticky too, times kept coming down during the day so he was happy enough, until it rained! the CO2 bottle emptied quite quickly too, bit more practice on the launch and he's sorted. once the car gets going it's like a rocket! Kev's best time today was: 11.87 @ 131mph 60ft: 2.057 there was an 11.9 and some 12.0's too.

Kevin Huntley
Well it was a long day starting at 6am, I am absolutly shattered now! I think the late night on Saturday working on the car really took it out of me. It was the first time I have had the car back on the track since last years TOTB and I was a little rusty on the startline. I also had a few new toys to play with that were quite distracting . Also learned how to do a burnout today, not as easy as some may think. Did 7 runs in total, had a few nightmares where I triggered the timer b4 I ran and stalled the car once very embarsing! The best times were as follows: 1/4 - 11.87 ET - 2.057 Speed - 131mph 1/4 - 11.92 ET - 2.046 Speed - 129 1/4 - 12.07 ET - 2.083 Speed - 131mph Shoot out Q/F against a skyline which I lost. The skyline killed me on the start but I realed him in but just could not catch him b4 the line... Must launch better! 1/4 - 12.10 ET - 12.177 Speed - 131MPH Hopefully these time should qualify me for TOTB. Thanks Kevin
Gaz Walker
I saw the Ferrari you mention pulling in just as I left, 360 Challenge Stradale I think it was Yes it was sweet - I think its "Blade" of the GTR & MLR boards... TS Skyline didn't get into it at all did it, Dee was just by himself with the Scooby too, pity the Supra didn't turn up. Was very surprised not to a see another Supra racing! Gaz.
