oil or water temp gauge

Hi just reading other posts that have got me thinking. I bought my car with 3 gauges in it (boost, temp & press). Now i just thaught the temp was water but it sits at 100 when driving norm but goes up to 105 or 110 (can't remember exactly) when giving wot. So i'm thinking this might be an oil temp.

Where can i find the water or oil temp sensor that the gauge uses so i know what the gauge is for?

Your best option is to track the wires back from the gauge and see where they go. It's not difficult, just find the colour codes and locate where they appear in the engine bay and trace it to the sensor.

If it's using the stock water sensor (which I doubt), you'll need to get a decent aftermarket one along with the boss to weld into an alu top rad pipe.

Just checked this & what i thought was my water temp is really my oil temp lol. Thanks Homer for the help.

I also noticed my oil press sensor just next to this and its all plugged up. The thing is the gauge has never had power since a bought the car, so i thaught it must not have had the sensor. I got my mechanic to plug it in, but he told me that when he had it plugged in it was making a a buzzing sound so he unplugged it again. Any help on what could cause this?
