yes i do know this one ( one of my close friends ) , jim he has been on your meets before,

he hit a massive pot hole and it basically threw him of the road, he was close to tears as he loved that car and used it everyday. Ash was lucky to be ok but very sad :(, and its not as if you can just go out and buy a vvti 6 speed in yellow with a vs fortune rear end :(

12k s worth gone :(

never heard that one before - these cars are fragile.

Hope his insurance pays out.

Pot holes are really bad round mine, one of my mates hit one in his new ST just before he pulled into the petrol station and managed to pop the tire off and bend the rim, although it was quite funny that Ford just supply them with a can of tire weld and no spare, suffice to say, it didn't work:d

I just drive to work swerving all over the road for potholes, I like the way that the government blames it on the winter though, if the roads were made well in the first place it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad.

Just another sign that this country can't cope with a bit of (what they consider) "extreme" cold - the whole country grinds to a stop and we are still now paying for what other European country's would consider "a light dusting" of snow!

I'm waiting for the Fuzz to stop me and have me breathalysed as I pinball around the road trying to find a good bit, my mileage to work has probably doubled!! :D

After living in aston all my life and driving most of its roads every day, i cant say ive seen a massive pothole on the duel carrageway (surely he would have had to be doing DCW speeds for that to happen?)

Edit, fence hill is a 30mph road (with no massive potholes afaik and a school..), with a wicked bend at the bottom after a roundabout, im guessing he entered the roundabout too quickly and lost it on the bend after.

Unless that pothole was already reported to the local council, he'll not have any hope of making a claim against them. I suppose if you hit one hard and one wheel collapsed or the suspension broke it could spit you off catastrophically.

True I drive up and down there quite a lot and have never spotted a pothole big enough to send a car off the road at 30mph. It would have had to be a ditch :) I think maybe speed is involved, As he had come off the road quite a bit.

The first thing i thought was speeding but luckly for ash there was a traffic copper parked up who saw the accident and he said speeding wasnt the issue but i wasnt there so obv i can't comment.

The yellow supra cannot be replaced unfortunate for ash but i ll keep this post updated. Maybe a single turbo on the way for him ;)
