Samurai446
OK, im having to sell the supe due to a number of things. I want something which can hold more than 2 people, and that isnt quite so expensive to run. But it still needs to be pretty powerful. I cant be going back to a 1.6 again after driving the supe. Anyone got any ideas what to go for? Preferably a convertible as well
eldudereno
How much do you want to spend? How about a Saab???
Samurai446
probably around 15-20grand. Maybe 25 at a big big push. Ive looked at saabs. I had a saab 900 before, it was a good car, but the power was crap in it. It was a 2.0 non turbo. I know the new turbos are 210bhp, but i think there quite heavy cars, so it wont be really powerful. The interior is minging as well.

Samurai446
The Audi's ive seen are a little out of my price range new. The S4 convertible is about 40grand. Obscene money.

Holly
Sorry you're having to sell Samurai! We've got a Volvo C70 convertible (T5, 245 bhp, basically the same engine as the ones the motorway police drive) and it's a beautiful car; it's got a fantastic interior and good room in the back even tho' we're tall people. Have to say that it is really a 'cruising' car, it feels a bit like driving a ship if you've just got out of the Supra! It's got the power, but you have to ask it to go. It's probably in your price range for cars 3+ years old too. But truthfully, if you fancy a Leon, best go for that as now is not the best time to buy a convertible (they go up at this time of year). Bobbeh
£18K new... and VW reliability and build quality Is crap? Dont you see the JD power survey. I'd go with a SAAB too, my uncle has one, very nice and quick!
Samurai446
Thanks for the offer holly, but im really tempted for the leon now. I had a convertible last summer and loved every minute of it. But when it got to winter i hated it. Cant really win.

hadyn
scrabble hell? Front Wheel Drive - torque steer, inherrent bad handling, not being able to put more than 250bhp through the front wheels without the car becoming uncontrollable
Seb
BMW M5 - screw the running costs! You can get one with warranty and middling mileage for circa £17k. One of the few BMs that gets me going.
Jay
You can pick up an early E46 M3 for

Guest Ryan
Did I miss the part that ruled out an Impreza STI? Just wondered why nobody has mentioned it yet. 4 door family performance car with a not too bad interior...nowadays at least.
